Hydrofarm Active Aqua Commercial Air Pump, 6 Outlets, 20W, 45 L/min

I purchased this to make compost tea. I plan on using it to make about 20 gallons at a time, but tried it out by making just 5 gallon and it provides lots of air. I'm using with 2 large stones and 2 smaller ones. It is loud if sitting on a surface and vibrating, but I just hung it with a couple of bungee cords and it reduced the noise dramatically. **Update** I've used it to make about 18 gallons of compost tea a number of times and it provides plenty of air. I usually make the tea in my attached garage and we can't hear the pump in the house. The air bubbles it produces probably make as much noise as the pump.

**EDIT** its now june 6th 2017 and i purchased it around june 6th 2016 the pump is still going strong and i run this 24/7/365 nothing wrong with it smell has almost completely diminished and pump is smooth and noise is still the same again i highly recommend this pump I've had this pump for over a week now Been running 24/7 Well right of the bat it's got a god awful burning plastic smell and a week later it's still the same It does get quite hot to the touch and the inside of my cabinet is almost 5 to 7 degrees hotter then outside Now this pump isn't very big (refer to pictures) Compared to the tetra whisper 100 it replaced Nor is it much louder ( it actually is slightly louder ) It's actually better if the pump is concealed inside a cabinet other wise it'll drive you nuts The pipe it comes with is very low quality and xpands with the heat the pump produces eaither clamp it or replace it The valve manifold is amazing works great Also very easy to open and clean the air filter Now this pumps feet will smudge the surface they sit on since they are sort of melting (as seen in the pictures) All in all a very powerful pump capable of multiple applications But I'm running it on an chicled/ mixed tank and it has more then enough power in case of future expansion Highly recommended for aquariums/ ponds

Es un producto muy bueno, superior a todo lo que hay en ese segmento en el mercado, tanto en precio como en eficiencia. No es una bomba para interiores pues es un poco ruidosa y se calienta. Tengo dos y compraré mas. Las uso para el cultivo de Spirulina y funciona perfecto en tanque de 200 y 450 litros. No pongo difusores y están a casi 60 cm del profundidad.

Okay so I have had this since November 12, 2015, it ran OKAY all winter but with a much smaller stone than I had for a fairly large pond in my back yard... fish stayed alive and I was happy! At the beginning of the summer a really large pond specialist came to my house and sold me a fantastic stone that worked fabulously all summer. In the fall, I closed up the pond and it seems the air wasn't coming out as hard, but I thought it was because it was too deep or something (pond is 7' and it's deepest). Today, Christmas day 2016, it stopped working, YIKES I thought, 11 beautiful Koi, no I have to save them... so I went out and thankfully it was warmer today even with a foot and a half of snow on the ground, I was able to pull up the airstone and the weighted tubing, unplug the pump from under the fake stone cover and bring it in. filled the laundry tub and took the hose off the pump to see if it was working and it was! So I took a steal wire brush and cleaned the stone and wow, it is back to normal... fantastic PUMP, it did not burn out from pumping to a blocked stone and it is now running well. Previous Review after a week of owning it: This Air Pump has worked really well since November when I purchased it. I have a large pond and lost all my fish in 2014, so decided to try this outdoors, I bought a false rock cover for it (large so there would be lots of air flow and it has run continuously for almost 5 months. I am impressed and happy with it at this point, I have two air stones on it with line which is about 12' each. I plan to add 3 more lines at longer lengths and I will update when/if I have changed my opinion. BTW, I had ordered the bigger one and found that it was too loud and too big for my liking although I was advised to go with the bigger one given my size of pond. All in all, it saved me money on buying fish again.

Muy potente hace bastante ruido y se calienta pero esta muy buena
