Awesome for the price!
It's honestly great to find something made from real wood, not some heavy overpriced engineered wood. Easy to assemble, I'd recommend a little wood glue to ensure it's super solid, and it'll last a long time. Added 12 bags of play sand and it's perfect. Extremely happy with this piece.

A great sandbox!
The quality of this sandbox is superb! Its design is such that when you open it up, there is a bench on either side. The little benches can hold up to three toddlers on each side, which is wonderful when my grandson has visitors. It’s easily opened for playtime. I love the design! When I purchased the sandbox for my grandson, I also purchased a cover to protect it from the elements in Florida. The sandbox looks like it did when we bought it. It holds quite a bit of sand, but I generally only put 4 bags in it at a time. To further protect the sandbox from the elements we put a thick piece of plywood underneath it before setting it up. There is a very sturdy tarp like fabric that you line the box with before you put the sand in which is another wonderful feature.

Nice Sandbox
Nice sandbox but I feel it may not last long. The hinges are a bit flimsy.

Every child should have one! It’s like playing at the beach without water!
My grandson loves this sandbox. So, many aspects that meet what a parent would like in a sandbox. Smooth wood, a lid that closes to protect the sand from the elements, opens up with seats so you do not always have to sit in the sand. Taller side walls to keep the sand in the box if your child is an all on player. For parents it was ease to assemble and sturdy with enough room for a friend to join. I highly recommend this product.

Worth every penny, perfect for my two kiddos
I saw a lot of reviews saying assembly was a pain, and after reading the directions I can see how it would be confusing as far as trying to match the pieces to the photos. With that being said, we got it assembled fairly quickly, all the wood is in good shape(no splintering or breaks in wood). We used 8 bags of play sand 50lb bags from Lowes. Was the perfect amount, could add 1 or 2 more no problem though. The benches are sturdy, once closed and covered, I wouldnt really say its sturdy to walk on, but I also dont see any reason why you'd need to. If my kiddos did, it would hold up just fine! Overall, SO glad we picked this. Cost effective, it's sturdy (followed directions!!), and the kids love it! Obviously i am not sure how it will hold up over time just yet, but I'm sure itll do just fine. Update: lots of fun still! Overall pretty pleased. Will say... I get now what the other reviews meant about the benches breaking, happens easier than it should! Screws are small so they dont go through the wood, but they dont hold as well as we had hoped with the benches. Still, not a bad purchase and easy/quick to fix. Also, not a huge deal, but trying to lay the "fabric" down was a pain. We had to level our sandbox a little and I wish the fabric piece had been just a little bigger than the sandbox so there was wiggle room. Both my toddlers can fit well and theres enough space to play comfortably & they are obsessed, so I'd say it's still a win! Now if I could just find a way to keep the kids from removing all the sand by filling buckets and making a beach in the yard🤭

Great concept, but weak construction — needs reinforcement
The overall idea of this sandbox is wonderful. We love the lid that transforms into benches — it's clever and very convenient. However, the construction turned out to be quite flimsy. After just a couple of times opening and closing the lid (on the very first day), some of the short screws popped out of the hinges, and one of the wooden slats cracked. We’re not returning the sandbox because our child absolutely loves it. Instead, we’ll be modifying it ourselves by replacing the hinges and using stronger screws. I highly recommend that anyone assembling this sandbox consider reinforcing it during setup. It’s a great product — just needs a little help to last.

Instruction Manual Was Easy To Understand
Contrary to other older reviews, the instructions were clear. Step by step written instructions and images were provided in the manual we received. Perhaps the manufacturer listened to reviews. This was easy to assemble but does require two people to hold the pieces while placing the screws. Cedar smell was amazing. Although we used a drill, none of the wood pieces split. (Cedar is soft wood and other reviewers complained about this). We screwed them in slowly, which I believe helped avoid the wood splitting. Other reviewers commented about the gap and we originally thought their must be an issue with a gap. So, before attaching the seat boards to the base as instructed in the manual, we assembled the lid and remaining seat & seat back first (see second picture attached). We then placed the seat board next to this and attached the hinges to the remaining seat and seat back (see third picture) BEFORE attaching to the base. Then, lay both seats on top of the base and push them together before screwing of to the base. (See third picture) if you don’t mind the gap, forget what I said and follow the instructions 😃. We personally didn’t care about the gap as we will cover this with a tarp when it rains anyway. I don’t know why, but we put the mesh on the outside of the base with the staple gun. It should be stapled inside to help keep the sand in. Oh well! We placed the sandbox on a piece of plywood. We bought eight 50 pound bags of play sand from Home Depot but only used 5 for now I think it’s a personal preference on how much sand you want. Our extra bags will be used to replace lost sand. Unsure of its durability as we just put it together today. Overall, I think it’s a good product for the money.

Pretty good for the price!
Pretty good for the price. You definitely want to staple the black lining to the base into the wood and up the sides. Your sand will go seeping out if it’s an uneven ground. Be careful opening, closing the top the second day that we had it the wood split. Was easily fixed with wood glue, and some clamps. Two toddlers comfortably fit. Easy entertainment for 1&3 year old. At least six bags of play sand
