I purchased this set for my Grandson as a gift so I couldn't show you exactly how well these worked in water, and I didn't want to open them too much, but you can see the size of the fish as well as the vibrant colors on them. I also have a picture with the reel/rod against a soda can, so you can see how big it is.My son said that my Grandson's eyes lit up when he seen the fish! (He's just turning 3 years old) He ripped the bag open and put all the fish in his swimming pool and couldn't wait to begin catching them. It only took him one try and he new how to catch them on his own thereafter, so it's very easy for a child this age to learn the game.My son has 5 children, with 4 of them being boys, whom are very rough on everything! So the test began with these fish and the rod to test durability of each! The kids played for several hours, which also included fighting and arguing about who's turn it was, which led to fish being thrown up in the air and tug of war on the reel. Needless to say, the entire toy set held up through all that, with no damage whatsoever, to the fish or the reel/rod. This Grandma is very happy about that!!The little one is not a fan of bath time, however, that night he was asking for his bath, and in went his fish with him! Each fish is anywhere from 2 inches to 3.5 inches, and also pretty wide as well and each have beautiful vibrant colors. I did not measure the rod/reel, but look at my picture with it laying next to the soda can to get an idea of size. Then of course string comes out along with the hook being well made. No problems with any of this falling apart or breaking after many hours of play with my Grandchildren. Which is a shock to me as the really are rough on their toys!Overall, I am very satisfied with this toy fish set. It helps teach good hand coordination, teaches colors, and of course, how to catch a fish. There were no issues with the magnet hook, it easily picks up a fish and the reel is very easy to use, with it never getting stuck nor did they have issues with the string breaking. The set is made very well, not cheap looking or feeling whatsoever. I paid more than the listed price and feel I more than got my money's worth out of it already! The company must be having a special right now, as it's "much" less than I paid and they are offering a coupon deal too. I'd say, "run" and grab a couple at this price, one for your child and one as a gift, before it goes back up to what I paid. You won't be disappointed and your little's sure won't be either!

Wanted to love this because they are beautiful and adorable. Unfortunately, water does get inside and the colors aren’t painted. They are paper and dissolve when the water gets in. You are left with clear plastic fish. They are difficult to hook. The magnet is really tiny so you will most likely need to help your toddler play with this set. Not a bad thing, but a bigger magnet would have been more helpful.

the magnet isn't strong enough to pick up the fish. But I just attached a stronger magnet & then it worked fine. You do have to be careful to place the "hook" in the exact right spot of the fish, which might be frustrating for younger children.Aside from that, it's a fun product. The fish are cute. and the reel is fun.

My grandchildren love these types of fishing games, but usually these games last for one fishing event. Not these! I love them, they are made to last a 3 yr old boy fishing in the fishing hole, in our living room.

I thought the fish were going to be a little bigger but so far they are just fine. I like the colors in each fish and the magnets sticks to the fishing pole. My kids have a bigger fishing pole that the use for outside in a baby pole. The one that comes with this set works great for the bathtub.

Thought this would be perfect for my 3 1/2 yo, but it is way too hard to try and “hook” the fish that she lost interest right away. Has never played with it since.

My granddaughter likes them but has already broken the pole twice. not a big deal as we use them in the bath.

Very cute set. I really like the winding noise when you reel it in. Lots of fishes to catch and magnet works well.
