Durable but Misleading: Elechiakan Upgraded Orbital Sander Replacement Pads Review
Working on props for my kids' high school marching band field show, I was abruptly called over to deal with an issue: my random orbital sander's pad had torn away from the machine's body. This tool had been reliable for five years, so I decided to pick up the Elechiakan Upgraded Orbital Sander Replacement Pad pack, which promised to solve the problem. With four pieces included, I figured I would have more than enough replacements if this issue turned out to be recurring. However, the experience turned out to be a mixed bag.Upon receiving the replacement pads, two things quickly became evident. Firstly, the problem wasn't with my sander itself, but rather with one of the other parents who didn’t quite understand how to use it properly. It turns out that training people on how to use the equipment correctly could prevent future mishaps, thereby reducing the need for constant replacements. Secondly, the product description and images were somewhat misleading. The package contains four pieces, but only two of them are the actual aftermarket replacement parts I expected. The other two are foam-based Velcro attachments designed to help with sanding contours, which was not made clear from the seller’s description or photos.Realizing this misinterpretation was partly my fault, I took a closer look at the product details post-purchase. Indeed, the seller had not explicitly stated that half of the included pieces were contouring attachments rather than straightforward replacement pads. This misunderstanding could easily catch others off guard as well, so I feel compelled to clarify this aspect in my review.Despite the initial confusion, the parts themselves seem to be of decent quality. Replacing the old pad with the new one was straightforward and didn’t present any issues. The new pads appear sturdy and are holding up well under regular use. I particularly appreciate the metal parts, which add a layer of durability that should help them last longer than the original pads. The hook-and-loop system works as expected, providing a secure fit for sanding discs. While the pads do their job well, the additional foam-based Velcro attachments are a nice touch for those needing to sand contoured surfaces. However, since this wasn’t something I initially needed or expected, I found it to be an unnecessary addition. For those who do more detailed or intricate sanding work, these attachments might prove to be a useful bonus. The key takeaway from my experience is the importance of clear communication from the seller. Had the product description been more explicit about the nature of the four pieces included, I could have made a more informed decision. As it stands, I have two actual replacement pads and two contouring attachments, which I might eventually find a use for.Another important lesson learned is the significance of proper training. The issue with the sander’s pad tearing away was more a result of improper use than a flaw in the equipment itself. By ensuring everyone who uses the tools understands how to operate them correctly, we can extend the life of our equipment and reduce the frequency of such replacements. In conclusion, the Elechiakan Upgraded Orbital Sander Replacement Pads do the job they’re intended for. They are durable, easy to install, and function well with my DeWalt sander. However, the misleading product description detracts from the overall experience. I’m left with two unexpected foam attachments that I didn’t need, which adds unnecessary clutter to my toolkit. Nevertheless, the actual replacement pads are a solid purchase, and having extras on standby is always a good idea, especially in a shared workspace. I would recommend these pads, but with a caveat: be aware of what you're actually getting in the pack to avoid any surprises. Therefore, I give this product a three-star rating. It performs well and solves the immediate problem, but the initial confusion and misleading description prevent it from being a top-tier purchase.

Easy quick fix for sander
If your Dewalt sander no longer holds the sandpaper and occasionally throws the disc across the room it is time to replace the Velcro pad. This is a simple quick replacement. Just need to remove three screws, remove the old one and install this new one. This kit is includes 2 pads that mount to a sander (So you can fix two sanders or one sander and have a spare pad). It also includes 2 soft foam pads that velcro attach to the mounted pad to make contour sanding easier. The holes on this pad are a bit smaller than the Dewalt original but are the same size as standard sanding discs. This makes lining up the holes a bit harder. the grip of the Velcro is nice and strong as you would expect. The reason I took off one star is the odd behavior of the paper shifting 1/8 inch after you line it up. You can have it perfectly centered and all the holes lined up but when you start to sand the disc shifts off center by about 1/8 inch. This is probably due to the longer hooks in their Velcro than the original. The Velcro does hold the paper very well, it just shifts a bit.

Fits my DeWalt DW423 sander perfectly but only comes with 2 metal pads
The sanding pad on my older Dewalt DW423 recently broke when these pads popped up so I decided to give it a try. They fit perfectly and holds the sandpaper on nicely. When I saw the description I saw 4 pads and assumed that there were 4 metal pads but in fact there are 2 metal pads with a hook and look surface and two soft pads with hook and loop surfaces on both sides, it does state that in the description but I didn't read it that carefully. I really don't think that I'll be needed 4 any time soon anyways.Overall so far they look to be a good quality replacement pad for my sander, time will tell how long they will last but so far I have no reason to believe they shouldn't last a while.

Perfect fit.
Fixed one of my DEWALT RO sanders and refreshed the hook and loop pad on the other. These RO sander replacement pads are super easy to install. They will fix a broken pad or replace a worn one. These ads are the three screw version found on a lot of older sanders, (many of the newer models have 4 screws). Replacing a well worn pad makes a huge difference and I was surprised by how much more efficiently the sanders preforms. The set comes with a couple of additional padded extensions that allow you to sand curved surfaces. I have never used that type of pad on a RO sander and it works really well in areas that I would normally sand by hand.Great way to increase the performance and productivity of your sander without spending money on a new one.

Great for my Makita 4031K
Fits my Makita sander great! Great replacement! This pack should last a loooonnnggg time as I've just started to wear my original one out after several years of sanding. Also great in this pack is some flexible velcro sanding pads that attach to the OE discs. I grabbed one of these yesterday with some sandpaper and used the flexible sponge sanders in my hand to knock down some rough edges in between coats of paint and it worked perfect for that as well!
