Birtle and the Purple Turtles (Volume 1)

I knew I’d love this book the moment I heard about it. A purple turtle who loves to play tag? A naked turtle who’s actually a bird? Yes, please! This book is hilarious, heartwarming, and a whole lot of fun! I dare you not to fall in love with Tootie and Teeny. Their friendship is so sweet and endearing, and the message to “love your feathers” is one we all need to hear. This book is sure to delight young readers again and again!

Tara J. Hannon is an amazing author who has dedicated her life to bring joy to others, especially children. In my humble opinion, she’s well on her way to becoming the next Dr. Seuss!!! Strongly recommend acquiring her art and appreciating her beautiful craft!

We just read Birtle and the Purple Turtles for the first time and it exceeded expectations! The illustrations were perfect and beautiful, and the story was captivating for my 5-year-old. The book had so many cute puns throughout, and all of the characters were great. And what a great message! It’s not just ok to be yourself - it’s the best thing to be! We loved it and look forward to reading it over and over again.

I read this to my niece and she loved it. This is a wonderful story about growing into your own finding who you are and accepting who you are. I would definitely recommend this book to young readers. This is definitely a book to cherish as it reminds kids that it is okay to be different.

This is a hilarious story about a bird who thinks she's a turtle, and is horrified when feathers sprout from her butt. Lucky she has her friend, Tootie, to reassure her that she is perfect exactly as she is. Such a fun, heartwarming read!

A super story about being friends with someone who may be very different from you on the outside, but a little more like you on the inside. About how friendship can bridge a seemingly wide divide. It's also about staying true to yourself. Kids are going to love Tootie and Teeny. I can already see them turtle-tapping instead of high-fiving, playing turtle tag, and doing turtle tucks, and giggling at "fuzzy butt," LOL. Good thing volume 2 is in the pipeline!

My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter insists Birtle be read to her MULTIPLE times a day. It has displaced B.J. Ryan's No Pictures Book as the # 1 in the household, a huge accomplishment. As the grandad, love the message in this book.

This book was ordered for the young child of our next door neighbor. It was authored by our niece (by marriage). The receiving family greatly appreciated the gift and weee excited by the personalized nature of the gift.
