You need more light
Like many residential kitchens, mine had mediocre light on the work areas. About 20 foot-candles, because the flood bulbs were "75 watt equivalent." Installing these more than doubled the light level, and they look a lot better than the flood bulbs, too. I expect they also eliminate any air exfiltration into the attic. They are also perfectly dimmable, if you have a modern dimmer. Installation was easy.

Great lights.
These look great, much brighter than the builder grade. The old caveat it their dimming rate is a bit limited. The first photo is on 100%, the second fully dimmed. Lutron maestro dimmer.

Excellent Brightness (You May Need a Dimmer Switch)
These very bright LED can light fixtures are great if you sometimes want maximum light (such as cooking in a kitchen with five of them overhead). But if you don't always want glaring bright light in or near that space, you'll need a dimmer switch to control them. It's best to get a dimmer switch with an adjustable dimming range (such as the Lutron Diva), because LED bulbs (including these) tend to flicker if they're dimmed too much. I like that these fixtures have adjustable color temperature. Just remember to set it the same for each fixture with the sliding switch before you install them!DIY installation in place of existing can light bulbs requires the following: 1) set the desired color temperature on the new LED fixture; 2) attach a provided spring clip to each side of the LED fixture so that the spring prongs are farther from (not closer to) the center of the new LED fixture; 3) unscrew the existing bulb; 4) remove the existing spring-mounted casing (this involves detaching the existing light socket from the casing by pushing aside the tabs that hold it in place, which can be a bit awkward and difficult, and detaching the spring prongs on each side from the brackets); 5) screw the provided screw base into the light socket; 6) attach the wire from the screw base to the wire from the LED fixture by pushing the clips together; 7) feed the spring prongs on each side of the LED fixture into the existing brackets; and 8) push the LED fixture up until it's flush with the ceiling, where it'll be held in place by the spring tension.

A little pricey, but they did the job
We replaced all of our ceiling lights with these. Our original lights were the recessed can lights that are open and we noticed our house was always incredibly dusty. We realized it was because dust was coming from the attic, so we purchased these closed end lights. They fixed the problem. I'm hoping they last for a long time, because you cannot just replace a bulb in these. You have to replace the entire fixture and that's a negative. We did purchase another box to have on hand for replacements.I feel they are a bit on the pricey side, though.

Amazing how quick and easy to install!
I am a beginner at doing anything like this, and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to.follow.the directions and change out 5 of them in about 10 minutes. Amazingly easy! And love the quality of the light! Bright without a glare!

Not a Vine Reviewer. I rate them a do not buy.
Edit Update: I've had these installed for a while and I'm going from giving them 3 stars, down to a one star. A couple of them have started to pulsate while on. This is defiantly annoying and at some point will have to replace them and any others that might start doing the same. It looks like the price and quantity were too good to be true.I bought these because they look like the LED light I have in the kitchen, recessed, same style. They look good installed and were easy to install as well. I do have some dislikes about them. I dislike that when I turn them on, they flash bright for a split second before going to the color selected, kind of annoying, but not the end of the world. If you use them at the highest setting, probably not an issue. They also have a spot light effect, which means to me, they have a center point where the LEDS are placed. Again, not the end of the world, but I was hoping for them to match the one's in the kitchen, which are edge lit. They are priced well (cheap) and they will do the job, but just wanted to point out things I didn't care for. They did ship them to me in CA. Take that CA.

Bright and Versatile
These lights are fantastic, a breeze to install, and easy to adjust. I replaced all my flood-light style bulbs with these super bright, retro-fit bulbs. I have some of them connected to a dimmer and have had zero issues with flickering. Great value! Highly recommend!
