Pure Gem
Surreal. Has the power to transport the reader instantly to Celestial Ride in a Spaceship. Poetic, dreamlike, fantastic and real all at the same time.

Brilliant and much recommended to all of humanity ..
Wonderful piece of work.. amazing writing.. absolutely brilliant..Presented a new perspective of humans of today.. our planet and the astronauts themselves.. one of the best in a long long time..But one star less for handling of religion / God.. take a stand either this way or that.. you cannot say no god / religions but subtly sprinkle Christ n Bethlehem and the chapel saving people (Philippines tornado).. really? Typical western scientist mentality.. but that’s ok.. other than that, must read!!

Surreal/ thought provoking/ prose poetically written
🌌It made for a surreal but disorienting read about the fascinating, exhilarating and challenging life of astronauts🌌I liked the poetic prose, much of the writing reads lke 'an epic poem of flowing verses.'🌌Made me Introspect about topics such as god and religion vs science etc🌌Thought provoking read.I had to google a lot of the technical jargon, geographical locations, etc to make sense of it.I read the Kindle edition on Amazon

A surreal read
The entire book feels like long verses of poetry. It’s beautiful both in parts and all together. Read it with jazz in the background and that made it even better.

Must read!
This is a gem of a book. The writing is lucid, poetic, and philosophical and you will see the planet we inhabit in ways never seen before.

No plot only vibes but what vibes!!
This is a book that has no story line, no character arc, no plot. It is just a vibe ...... but what a vibe!Harvey tells us about the life of 4 astronauts and 2 cosmonauts in a space shuttle. They have spent varying amounts of time in space, combining this trip and some previous ones. They are all in this together now and trying to keep sense and sensibility together, keeping their bodies functioning, their minds sharp and their sense of time and space intact. In this closed space, so far away from the Earth they all know, we understand their daily routine, get a sense of the routine they set for themselves, because there are 16 days and nights they see every 24 hours. The sun rises and its sets multiple times a day as they orbit across the skies and see different parts of the globe all in the same 24 hours.

Beautiful, lyrical book
Pure poetry. I lingered over every line.

Orbital is a book difficult to read
Orbital is a story of six astronauts in a spacecraft rotating above earth. However , I found it really tedious to read ( even though I am a post graduate in Physics). With some effort and difficulty ,I could finish reading this book till end. I do not think that this book deserved Booker Prize . The only positive point about it is that it does give glimpses into the ideas and feelings of the astronauts when they are travelling in a space craft.
