Kratos Foods Kratos Protein Beef Bar Original, 1.2 Oz. Bars, 12 Count

I think may be some of the people reviewing Kratos don't realize it's more of an on the go performance type food. I first tried it when it was given out in trail race packets last year. I love that it's light, has the ability to offer me salt and protein and doesn't take forver to chew up. I've been putting a few in my camel back sincethen for marathon and ultra marathon. The local running stores all carry another similar brand that is tasty but contains fruit; I prefer no sugar so I started to order Kratos by the box when I couldn't find them. My kids happen to really like them too, and I was much more comfortable with little kids eating Kratos than tough to chew beef jerky.

I love these bars so much! A great protein filled snack for when you need something quick and filling. The only feedback that I do have is that this last box I received was not as fresh as they had been in the past. I noticed the date code was Feb 2016, so I received them towards the end of their shelf life. Still tasted good, but I have had MUCH better product when they are more fresh.

A little on the dry side, but a solid protein supplement to a meal.

These are a great alternative to less healthy, and more jaw-breaking versions of meat snacks (like jerky). No nitrites/nitrates, and these aren't sweet, which I like.

much prefer the zesty pepper. Both are too mushy for my taste.

This high protein snack actually tastes good. I will buy it again.

I received one Zesty Pepper Kratos Beef Bar in a CAIRN box (similar to Loot Crate but for the outdoors). This snack has a different texture than other beef sticks or jerky. It almost appears to be put together with a gelatin of some sort. It is a little greasy. This was taste-tested by myself, and my two teenage boys. I did not like it at all and spit it out. My 17-year-old wasn't particularly fond of it, but said he would eat it if he had to. My 15-year-old loved it and ate the rest of the bar. (He's kinda like Mikey from the old cereal commercials, he'll eat anything).We all agreed that the texture was a little unusual and a little off-setting. Our preferences for the taste were different.
