GREAT MOVIE!
Most of the time christian movies feel like they are preaching at the audience, and it often comes across as cringy. This movie was so good though we watched it several times and recommended it to christian and nonchristian friends, and they all liked it.I rented it then I had to go buy the DVD since we watch it so many times already.

Show’s God doesn’t Forsake us when we still mess up!!
I really enjoyed this movie, he was a little rascal when he was young, his down fall was the ladies. Samson wasn’t a perfect man and broke the 3 vules that he wasn’t supposed to do with God but he still came out victorious and showed me how Loving God is and how He would still help you when you’re not perfect. That’s why I like Paul’s teaching in the Bible, that it’s not by works but through Grace. I have done a lot of things I’m ashamed of and know matter how I tried to change It seemed I would get worse, it was only by God that I stopped. He delivered me Praise The Lord!!! I’m still not perfect but I know He’s Love is Perfect!!! I’m not saying you shouldn’t do good works for God and His Children at theas times of day we be more loving but it seems like its the opposite out there. I’m ready to go see the Lord the way things are now. I almost died at birth now I’m 65 and disabled but I know that comes from Satin he’s not too happy with me loving God instead of doing his works. I have Parkinson’s and other things wrong but The Bible says by Jesus Strips I were Healed and I still believe!!!

Well intended Bible film that feels a little flat
As a fan of biblical epics I was actually looking forward to watching this movie, because you can always be guaranteed that a film about Samson is going to be nothing if not entertaining. Let's get the obvious out of the way. They CLEARLY needed more money to produce this. If you're expecting DeMille, just watch the DeMille version. What you have here is a very earnest and well intended version of the classic tale. It's been stripped of the sex and the gratuitous violence, so you'll have people both for and against that based on the argument that the Old Testament is graphic because it's trying to make a point, which is that the harder you sin, the more you need God. The Bible is filled to the brim with flawed individuals like Samson because that's the whole point of the story. It makes the redemption at the end strike a cord with the reader, or in this case the viewer. Overall, even though there's not a ton of money in this I actually liked the production values and felt it was well filmed. The things that didn't work so well seemed to be easy fixes like really cheesy beards that looked glued on and a Three Wise Men Christmas pageant crown on the King of the Philistines who was actually well played by Billy Zane. For arguments sake let's go with the fact that they watered down the more salacious aspects of the story and padded it, to make it more family friendly, the script is a mess and that's where everything falls apart. They gave Samson a brother which just didn't make any sense. The screenwriter was almost afraid to have Samson and Delilah spend more than ten minutes together at any given time for fear of things getting too "sexy". There are plenty of ways to develop a relationship on screen without jumping into sex and it felt like the filmmakers were terrified of doing this. Delilah feels more like pretty wallpaper than an actual character. She "loves" Samson, but we never get the why, because while she's always around she's never given anything especially interesting to do. The true Achilles heel of the film is Jackson Rathbone. His mustache twirling villain Prince Rallah is a borderline movie killer. I don't mind a healthy serving of camp, but this guy takes the cake. It was jarring to watch him on screen and honestly there felt like there was a disproportionate time spent on him in relation to the characters I actually wanted to watch. At the end of the day while flawed I don't think this is a bad film and it definitely works if you want to start your kids off on a "Bible Lite" movie that you won't need to cover their eyes to watch with. Are there better versions of Samson to watch? Absolutely. However, although it's cluttered behind some odd creative choices, there is clearly plenty of love that went into the overall integrity of this movie and I think that counts for something.

Biblically Accurate Rendition Of Samson
The acting and scenery of this film was very good. Maybe not epic - like The Ten Commandments or Jesus Of Nazareth - but still very good. The main reason we got it was that we were very disappointed with the rather strange version depicted in the mini-series 'The Bible', which showed Samson as a black African man (he was not - he was from the Hebrew tribe of Dan, in the land of Israel near the land of the Philistines). The actor was huge - like the HULK; he could have easily performed the amazing feats of strength through his muscular strength alone! But the actor in Samson - while muscular - clearly relied on the power of GOD to enable him to do his mighty deeds. My biggest complaint with this film is that it skips over the 20-year period where Samson was a Judge in Israel. This is what made him important in the Bible; not just his great strength.

Read On.....
There's a lot of 'artistic' lee way going on in the the movie, but if you've read "Judges" in The Bible you'll catch it pretty quickly. It isn't heretical par say, but there's added material that wasn't in the Biblical text. It wasn't nearly as heretical as 2014 Noah or Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings", but there's definitely added material here. Still..... it's a good movie. The case was good and the disc was good as well.

amazing movie, inspired by it
i witness the strength of the living God.i love bible, and always looking for good amazing movies like this.IT inspired me to remember who you are and don't escape from it . you have a lot responsibilities to answer the God's call.and to lead your people and be aware what you cant do.because one you break your vows, you will feel you disappoint God.That is not good. The actorers are all amazing to the eyes.I admire the diractor to produce and create the wonderful and powerful scene.

Good but not great
I have watched many movies in the "book of" series. This is the first one that I have not completely enjoyed.Although it includes the main points from the original story, there is also a lot of padding some of which does not readily fit.I would recommend it as a watch as a general film.

Great movie.
I didn't know what this one was like, compared to the movie with Victor Mature ( 1949 ) but it wasn't bad at all. The special FX that were there were pretty good too. I quite enjoyed it.
