When I got my copy of Backyard Bird Watching Book for Kids, I immediately wanted to go out and search for birds. The photos in this book are full-page, eye-popping awesome! I laughed at the photo of a bluebird with a caterpillar in its mouth. I smiled at the geese watching over their nest of eggs. I marveled at the woodpecker feeding its chick. Not only does this book offer mesmerizing photos, but it also lets me listen to the sounds of each bird. I just scanned the QR code for each bird with my phone’s camera and smiled at the symphony of tweets, chirps and calls. Each is clear and expertly recorded, and now I know what to listen for when I’m wandering in the woods. I loved the full page of facts about each bird, the maps showing where to find them in North America throughout the year, and even the size chart for each bird so I would know what to expect on the trail. And, if you want to make a bird feeder, a birdhouse, or a bird bath, this book will show you how using stuff around the house. Perfect for kid-projects on a weekend. This book is just the right size for anyone wanting to take along a companion guide about birds. Not too big, not too small. It is perfect for kids who love wildlife (and their parents who want to do family-friendly fun stuff on the weekend). I now have a goal for the next year…to find and identify each of the thirty-five birds in this guide as I wander on trails in my state. And you can too…

Got this for my niece and she loves it! The QR codes are a great treat, as they let the reader hear what the bird sounds like. There's plenty of room for notes, and the images are top notch. She now wants to get some bird feeders and get to see the birds up close. Highly recommended!

I must say this is one of the best books I purchased for my kid. This contains a lot of details about birds with colorful pictures.

When the book arrived my daughter immediately asked me to read it to her. We went through a few pages but it was mostly the pictures that drew her attention. Not because its not informative but because she is 4 and doesn't sit down to hear me read a whole book, we're working on that though. The pictures are very bright and you can see every detail on every bird which makes it very visually appealing. My daughter especially loved the photos with the nest and eggs. We talked about the boy birds and the girl birds as well. I know this will be a book we will continue to read as she gets older!

I was so excited to get this book for our homeschool unit on birds, and it is even better than I imagined. The images inside are detailed, bright, and beautiful. The activities are engaging and enjoyable. I also love the mini-quizzes used to assess learning throughout the book. I highly recommend this resource for educational purposes or just for fun!
