XO Cafe Tequila Coffee Liqueur, 35% ABV, 70 cl / 700 ml

I'm not normally a tequila guy but this was a very nice surprise, smooth and flavorful. I'd recommend this to anyone that's been on the fence about tequila.

Had this in a very nice restaurant after dinner and I've been hooked. We ended the Christmas dinner with it and everyone found it delicious. Having to buy another bottle because there only a drop left.

My sister loves PATRÓN XO cafe tequila coffee liqueur and was devastated when it was discontinued in 2021. Made in Mexico, there has been a limited return to the UK and US markets, and we were lucky to spot it on a Black Friday deal at £38.99 which is a good price. This 70cl bottle of 35% ABV liqueur no longer comes in a presentation box which is disappointing if gifting as the unusual bottle shape doesn't suit most bottle bags!

Great delivery time even over Christmas. The bottle was packaged really well to avoid damage. Nice presentation bottle and value for money.

This is great, but it simply doesn't taste the same as it used to. I believe this is due to the agave shortage. As a result, I don't think this really justified the price. If you want a coffee tequila, there are others available at a better price point.

The coffee Patron XO is a firm favourite with me and my wife and our friends (although Cazcabel gives it a good run for it's money and maybe even pips it but that's another story for another review). All Patron tequila is delicious and this is no exception. Do you like tequila? Do you like a bit of spice? If the answer is yes to both do yourself a favour and click the buy button now, as this stuff is as good as it gets. There's a lovely smooth chocolate note followed by a warming chilli kick. Warning - it's addictive stuff, and you'l struggle to stop at just one.... We have a rule for shots in our house - they can never be done in odd amounts, so if you do one you have to have another. With a liqueur this nice this it's hard to stop at just two!

This was sadly discontinued in the UK as it wasn't selling as well as the company had hoped. As such, any new stock is imported directly from the US where it's still available and the labelling reflects this. The contents are the same as before, but the labels aren't applied straight for some reason. The display box hasn't been included for at least 5 years so people should manage their expectations. The listing does very clearly state that what's sent may not be the same as the pictures though. There are "alternatives" to this product such as Cazcabel (thicker, sweeter, 51% agave "mixto" rather than the 100% agave of Patron), Mr Black (bitter and unpleasant, as well as overpriced), and Kahlua (cheap, brown sugar syrup), but none will satisfy you if you've come to love the silky smooth taste of Patron Cafe. Some are however serviceable if you're looking to mix them in cocktails. This nectar should always be sipped neat in my opinion, it's too special to be ruined with cheap vanilla vodka or the admittedly yummy chocolate Baileys. It's currently selling for 32 which is roughly what you'd have paid without promotions before it was discontinued, but I wouldn't personally pay more than that and would like to see it closer to 25. It was 50 last week, all prices direct from Amazon. Some third party sellers are definitely taking advantage of the fact that this drink is coveted and requesting double that amount, and it's frankly disgusting behaviour. Due to accessibility and wildly fluctuating prices this is unfortunately no longer an every day drink for me and has been moved to a special occasion purchase, but I think that makes it all the more of a treat when I do eventually pop open a bottle. There really is nothing else like it.
