The best FPS controller for the PS4 and PS3
Love this controller but let me start with the negative first:I’m used to the original PS4 and PS3 controller layouts so it took me a while to adjust to the new layout of the Hori pad 4 FPS. The left thumb stick and direction buttons are switched. I kept reaching for the direction buttons when my thumb would hit the left stick. This was annoying at first but you get used to it after two weeks of playing with the controller. Now I can switch between the ps4 original controller and the Hori pad without my fingers getting confused! On the plus side this is an excellent controller, built like a tank. It’s super comfortable to hold if you have medium sized hands like me. The buttons are very nice, probably industrial grade and very satisfying to use! The front trigger buttons are replaced with regular buttons so if you play FPS games - it’s excellent. However, it won’t be useful in racing games where you might want to lightly press the accelerator. Anyway, can’t fault it - this pad was designed with FPS games in mind. I couldn’t say anything about the dead-zone on the sticks as I haven’t checked this out yet but I had no problem playing FPS games with them. Absolutely no lag, in fact I feel it responds slightly faster than the original PS4 controller and this is probably due to it being a wired controller. The wire, by the way, is very long and reasonably thick so you can play a good distance from the console.I really really really love the turbo button. Just keep the turbo button pressed and then hit which ever button you want firing continuously and then it is set!. Re-do this again to turn off the turbo function. Simple! I have used it a lot in JRPGs and quicktime events that require rapid button pressing and it maxes out the meter every single time :)Third thing I really enjoy is the rear target button with 3 levels of sensitivity. Sniping in games is a breeze now. In fact I feel really guilty using it all the time. You get superb control over the cross hair on the screen (depending on the sensitivity you select and are comfortable with). Aiming is now simple especially in games that do not have “auto-aim”. Lets face it, it’s not easy to aim in FPS games using a controller. Mouse is the way to go, but this controller makes it closer to a mouse. Don’t get me wrong, the precision you get with a mouse cannot be beaten but most games do not support mouse input on the ps4/3.Finally, the best thing about it all is that you can use it on both PS3 and PS4. If you have both consoles and enjoy FPS games like me it’s a no-brainer to get this controller.

Good controller but since Logitech quit, Hori have the licensed controller market to them selves on PS4...
Some things to bear in mind... as all the instructions are just in japanese still as its only a for japan product your buying an import item...USB devices can not wake the PS4 console... Nothing but official DS4s can at the moment wake the PS4 from rest mode... So sorry but you will have to get up to turn the console on first thing for a morning gameplay...Unlike the DS4 youll have to enable the controller on every boot up with the PS button... This is because the DS4 auto assigns during boot up.. This controller won't..Auto fire modes Are disabled by the share button... So to disable auto fire Youll take a photo every time...Auto fire is Faster than a human can do... Some games will consider the top speed auto fire as a continued press so if you have a side scroller Youll have to use the change speed setting to lower the timing...Track pad as stated is a Real track pad not just a button unlike other controllers...When using the Pad to enter text I find the cursor moves down on each press likely because the travel on the pad press is more than the DS4...Due to there not being a built in speaker the speaker audio Automaticly diverts to HDTV audio via HDMI or optical out, you don't have to change any settings. This is a bonus when using optical headsets as with DS4 the Speaker needed to be Turned off per game... not with this controller...No vibration is not an issue as with the DS4/DS3 you normaly turn it OFF to save battery life... The DS4 dual shock motors are not PS3 compatable so leaving them out saves parts and weight...Assigning the L3 or R3 button to the target button... saves mele usage activation when NOT needed... this becomes an issue with the dual shocks as they get older and the L3/R3 becomes sensitive...Still surprised no Distributor in EU or US for this...

The perfect Xbox contoller for Ps4
Well it finally came, the controller I've been waiting for. To go straight to the verdict this controller is absolutely perfect. Lets start with the negatives and to be honest there are literally none but a few may find fault with. There is no rumble or motion sensor in the controller, now if you got confused like me this doesnt mean the touchpad as that works on the controller just as good as the dual shock 4. One thing Ive always prefered is the Xbox layout and I love the Xbox one controller, to me its perfect, big chunky buttons and a great response. I thought the Ps4 contoller lacked the feel of it, dont get me wrong the ps4 controller is awesome but as soon as i saw this at e3 i had to get one. The controller feels perfect and the accuracy of the analogue sticks are flawless. The first major issue i thought was the triggers as the R2 and L2 buttons are more like flat buttons. I thought this to be an issue as when playing racing games i like to use the trigger like a peddle and use the sensitivity to glide round corners, well after a good sitting on project cars this works fantasic. The shoulder buttons are kinda like pressure sensitive, press normally and they will reposnd fine, ease of the pressure and it reacts perfectly. The instructions are i Japanese but one quick youtube search like a previous poster mentioned brings up a full guide in english so thats not an issue. Hori are known for making arcade perfect fight sticks and to me they have crafted the perfect gaming controller so much so that ive just ordered a red one, so one red and one black to match my Ps4. The controller is also available in blue on amazon uk. If you feel that the Ps4 controller is lacking that Xbox feel then pick this up, you wont regret it.
