Easy install. Hopeful that it works.
Update - 61 days after installation: After just a few days, there was a noticeable improvement in the way that soap and shampoo lathered up and the water just feels more slippery somehow. I have also noticed that when I wash my vehicle, the hard water spots don't show up in the same way as before. I did a quick wash the other day and didn't have time to dry the vehicle off. When I went out the following day there were spots of powdery residue where the water had evaporated that I easily wiped off with a damp towel. The heating element in our dishwasher has notably less white scaling on it now too. As others have stated, we still get some residual buildup at the fixtures but far less and it is much easier to remove now. I think this is a solid bang for your buck alternative to a water softener with easy installation and no maintenance after. Updated review from 4 to 5 stars.Purchased this as an alternative to a whole house water softener system. Our water isn't super hard but does leave the white residue at all fixtures and appliance heating elements. I'm hoping to eliminate as much of the residue as possible as well as extend the life of all of my appliances. I tested the water prior to purchase to make sure that this unit would meet the requirements. It tested at 50-100 ppm for total hardness (About 3-6 GPG) and had a pH of about 7.4. Installation is very simple but does require a 120V A/C outlet nearby for powering the unit. My only suggestion would be that the lead wires for the antennas are only about 6 inches long so the unit has to be mounted extremely close to the pipe. Making those even just a bit longer would really allow for some easier mounting options for the unit. My service line is 3/4" copper and accessible right where it enters the basement into my home so I mounted it there and was able to get about 11-12 wraps of the antennas around my pipe. Just installed it today, so no information on how well it works yet but I will update this review in a few months.

Used to replace Water Softener, works as advertised!
Our county water comes from wells and averages 23 grains of hardness, so I've had a water softener since we built the house in '91. That water softener sprung a leak, so I removed it on Saturday and started shopping for a replacement. My family immediately noticed that the taste of our water improved without the water softener, so I switched my search to salt free alternatives, and found Electronic Descalers to be attractive both in terms of purchase and maintenance costs. 23 grains of hardness is on the high side for Electronic Descalers, but this unit advertises 25, so I decided it was worth a shot and ordered it on Sunday. By Tuesday morning, we noticed that shampoo in particular would not lather, so we were seeing the effect of removing the old water softener. The new unit arrived Tuesday afternoon, and was simple to install (while the installation does not require the antennas be wrapped in a particular direction, I chose to install them exactly as the diagram indicated, effectively wrapping them in opposite directions). The instructions were were clear and informative and indicated that it should take about 3 days for us to notice that the soap would start to lather. In our case, it was almost instant, by Wednesday morning (12 hours) shampoo was lathering again! Net, our water taste better, soap is lathering again. Change in lime and stains remains to be seen; our old water softener was never perfect at descaling, and spots on our glasses were common, so if this unit works as advertised we may see an improvement in that area as well. But we already have our money's worth.

It works, it really works 🤯🤯🤯
Okay, I, like many of you think, no way this thing will work. So, I purchased it, before I went all out with the 2,000.00 water treatment system that adds tons of salt to the water and you have to refill the softer with 50 pound bags salt every two months. My intention was to give it a week or two to see what happens and if nothing happens, I'll return it before the 30 days Amazon gives you to send it back. Yes, I was a doubting Thomas, very doubting Thomas about the HQUA 5000E Electronic Water Descaler, Water Softener Alternative, Salt Free, Limescale, Rust Removal.I purchased a new house in East Texas a few months back and was very upset, when I discovered how horrible the water was due to all the dissolved Limestone and Calcium in it. The water had so much Limestone and Calcium in it, you could be charged with assault, if you filled a water balloon with it and hit someone with it. The water issue are things you do not notice until you live in the home. The soap would not lather up, when you washed cloths, dishes or took a shower. Then when you dried the cloths it was like they were hit with a wrinkle bomb even with fabric softener and dryer sheets. After washing the dishes they would still look dirty due to the white film caused by the water. When you used the water to wipe down somethings the dried water would leave you a nice white stain. To remove the water stain, I had to go back and wipe it down again with vinegar to get the white off. The water stained everything, stainless steel sink, granite counters tops, cloths, the shower, the tub, the dishes and glasses. It was very frustrating. I was also very, very upset that my new house and all the new appliances, plumbing and faucets were being damaged by the water. 🤬🤬🤬After I installed the HQUA 5000, everything changed. I installed the HQUA 5000 as directed on my PEX plumbing system and as seen in the pictures. The first night it was like WOW, because in the Shower I used the exact same soap as before but this time it lathered up real nice and I felt clean after the shower. I did some laundry and the soap foamed like it is suppose to. Once I dried the cloths, they were wrinkle free, smelled nice and were soft. The spots on the Stainless Steel sink, granite counter tops, dishes and glasses were gone too. 🤯🤯🤯. Last night I washed a wine glass as normal and did not dry it. I just let it dry on its own. After it was dry, it was crystal clear like it was polished. I must say, I'm very impressed, the HQUA 5000 works so wonderfully and I'm also very happy I do not have to spend lots of money to fix my water problem. The wife is very happy too because her hair comes out normal again. All I can say is try it and hopefully you get the same results as I did.I was not paid to write this review, nor was I given the HQUA 5000 for free, I purchased it. If you have any doubts you can email me through Amazon. Jim
