I picked up the BenQ MA270U 27” 4K monitor for my MacBook, and honestly, it feels like the Studio Display experience without the Studio Display price tag. Fonts are crisp, colors are accurate, and the whole setup feels native—no hassle, no blurry text. Display Quality: The panel is gorgeous. Whether I’m editing photos, watching videos, or working on multiple documents side by side, the sharpness and vibrant colors make everything pop. It delivers pro-level performance for a fraction of the price. Design & Comfort: The slim bezels, sturdy adjustable stand, and BenQ’s eye-care features make it practical for long hours of work. It’s sleek enough to sit right next to a MacBook and not look out of place . Bottom Line: If you’ve been eyeing the Studio Display but can’t justify the cost, this monitor is the smart buy. I’m really impressed with this monitor. It fits seamlessly with all of my Apple devices — Mac, iPad, and even my iPhone for screen mirroring. The color accuracy is excellent and eye-protecting, the 4K resolution is super sharp, and the overall build quality feels premium. Setup was simple, and the connectivity options make it really easy to switch between devices. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want a reliable, high-quality external monitor, this one is a fantastic choice!

I bought this BenQ 27” monitor for my photography and work projects. It is a fabulous monitor. My old Apple Studio monitor finally died and I wanted to find a less expensive new monitor with better connections to my MacBook Pro including better color profiling options. The BenQ met all my expectations and more. It is easy to set up and connect directly to my laptop. The 90 watt USB C connection powers your laptop and other devices. It just works easily and gives you a beautiful display with their advanced matte screen. I was leery of a matte screen, but it’s gorgeous. Images and text look very sharp with advanced display options with downloadable software from BenQ. And the price is great compared to an Apple Studio monitor.

Sets up quickly to a Mac Mini, looks good, sharp image. I wish it had a camera and microphone, but it didn't claim to.

This monitor is absolutely awesome. I will most definitely be buying another in the future. I didn’t use the “color-matching software” that’s advertised because I honestly don’t need it. It’s essentially identical to my 2025 MacBook Air. Connections are great, screen size is massive, colors are bright and vibrant, and refresh rate/response time seems to be amazingly fast.

Lovely looking monitor. It makes a big difference to have a quality monitor when using a DAW for music production. I got the gloss version, and it is gorgeous. The gloss version does seem to add a bit of high frequency reflection from the monitor speakers. But it is a trade off I am willing to make for the improved visual clarity.

Being a Mac user, after the demise of my dated 2017 Intel 27" 5K iMac, and after some research, I came across the BenQ MA27OU. With all the hyperbole I've read about this display, but with some pessimism, I ordered one for my new Mac Mini M4 Pro... and I've been very pleasantly surprised. This is not an Apple Studio Display... but BenQ doesn't claim it is. It's a high quality monitor, roughly two thirds less expensive than the benchmark display that the Apple Studio Display is. My particular model BenQ MA270U 27” 4K monitor, across all corners, has the least light bleed I've ever seen in a monitor before. That says something about BenQ manufacturing Quality Control at a monitor in this price point. Downloading and installing Display Pilot 2 provides additional fine tuning of the display. Using DP2 even allows keyboard changes to volume. With Hi DPI enabled in Display Pilot 2, unless you pixel peep, displayed text is essentially as sharp as the Apple Studio monitor. The only downside of this display, if you could call it that, which won't matter to many, is the built-in speakers are nothing less than terrible. My dead iMac had absolutely outstanding speakers, but the built-in BenQ monitor speakers immediately required cluttering up my relatively small desktop space with a pair of quality speakers. All in all... the BenQ MA270U 27” 4K is an extraordinary monitor at a great price-per-performance value... and a purchase I'd make again without hesitation.

I purchased the BenQ MA270U 27” 4K monitor to use as a secondary display alongside my Apple Studio Display. While the monitor is fine overall, it doesn’t quite meet the same level of quality as the Studio Display, which admittedly sets a very high bar. One of the selling points of this monitor is its M-Book color mode, which is supposed to match the color profile of MacBooks. However, I found the colors don’t quite align with the Studio Display, even after tweaking settings. It’s not bad, but the difference is noticeable, possibly because the Studio Display is significantly brighter. That said, as a standalone monitor, the BenQ MA270U is perfectly adequate. The 4K resolution is crisp, and it performs well for general use. However, if you're pairing it with a Studio Display or have high expectations for color accuracy and brightness, it might feel a little underwhelming.

This was a mixed review - hence 3 stars. The monitor's display looks fantastic in terms of colour rendition, vibrancy and consistency to my previous 27 inch iMac display. The matte finish is also great for a brightly-lit room and minimises reflections. Using the Display Pilot 2 app in conjunction with the display just enhances the experience and provides a lot of configuration options. This consistency was what swayed my decision to go for this monitor to begin with. Unfortunately the monitor arrived with a damaged display - shown by the 2 inch or so band on the right-hand side, and I am currently going through the returns process for this unit with Amazon. I have purchased the same unit again in the hope that the replacement is undamaged. Follow-up Edit 01-Dec-2025 - It deserves and gets 5 stars. After re-ordering a replacement monitor, the replacement arrived as scheduled. In two words: Fantastic result. No issues with this monitor after a week of use, and I'm very happy in terms of its display quality and consistency.

I spent 3 months researching what monitor to buy for my Mac mini. I was too worried about purchasing a 4K monitor and not being sharp enough for my taste. With this monitor, I got it all right: MacOS integration, good colours, good brightness. 4K is sharp enough in MacOS; I'm thrilled about buying this one.

This monitor works flawlessly with my MacBook Air. I love that I only need a single USB-C cable, it charges my laptop and connects the display at the same time. The picture quality is sharp, colors look fantastic, and the adjustable stand makes it comfortable to use for long hours. Simple setup, great design, and exactly what I was looking for.
