My brother-in-law is from India. The age-old hair oil that is used in India includes Kalonji (onion seed. These are quality seeds that have been dried. They don’t smell so great, so it’s important to add essential oils to the hair oil before using it. I got quality seeds for a good price. This is the first time that I am making the hair oil, so I’m not sure how it is going to work. I will write an update after we start using it! I wish that the package included a ziplock re-sealer at the top. It does not, but I like the option of being able to buy quality, real Eastern Indian products. I will put in a bag that can be resealed.

I use this for my hair and the brand is really good. I will buy this brand again.

These Black Seeds from TAJ are great! It's solid quality and fresh, very similar to the better quality offerings I find in Southeast Asian/Indian grocery shops. My only gripe is the pricing. While not horrible, it's notably pricier than similar offerings I find at grocery stores that are comparable in quality. These are still a great buy from TAJ, but just not THE absolute best deal on the market.

Too expensive

This bag is a great value for the price considering the size of the bag! I was ordering them to stuff capsules with, and these seem to be great quality. They smell and taste fresh, and I haven't seen any foreign things mixed in the seeds at all.

I've never had these seeds before so I have nothing to compare this particular bag to. I bought them because of the claimed glucose lowering properties and to try them in meals. The product appears to be be of high quality, nothing else is in the mix but the pure seeds themselves. I tasted a few as is without anything and was pleased by the freshness and the taste of cumin. The cumin taste is unique and is different from common cumin but is pleasant. I took a bit more and that's when I got more of the strong flavors and a bit of bitterness at the end. The flavor has a long finish. I see me using these on top of Nan bread or substitute for Zatar. The price is quite reasonable for the amount. As many have pointed out that the bag is not resealable and is best put in a zip lock bag to maintain freshness.

These black cumin seeds are great for Indian food. The size and texture is exactly what I was expecting, and there was no extra chaff in the bag. The seeds were fresh and flavorful.
