Wonderful! Wish was less money tho
The only bad thing is putting all that sand in it. I do think it should be more sturdy when it comes to adjusting the height for the cooking. It looks easy to adjust but it really doesn't stay it falls down a lot but my son doesn't care it's very well worth the money I thought well may be should've been a little cheaper but It's good quality

Poor Build Quality, Low Durability, Disintegrating Foam = Huge Mess
I wanted to like this thing, because it was an affordable piece of striking equipment. I'll review it for its merits as such first: You fill the base with bags of gravel or sand. Do not fill it with water. It advertises that you're free to do this, but you're also free to pour wet cement down your sink drain. Not a good idea. Once you do so, and manage to get the bag to stand at any height - not terribly easy owing to the laddered construction of the spine - that is, the notched plastic pillar the "bag" sits around - it'll be too low. I'm just over 64 inches tall, superfly weight, and this thing is too short for me. I have it at the second highest position. The highest position will not hold given the molding of the ladder. It's just not built to fit into that slot. Being made a sort of polystyrene or something similar, it doesn't give too much, not even after two months of continuous use. This can be a good thing, as it encourages you to pop your strikes back, rather than try to dig through it. If you're trying for more a style of punching through a target, that's still feasible, it just demands better hand and wrist posture to avoid injury. In that sense, this would be a simple and effective training tool, and a good addition to a home gym. Although I'd wager it's too short be of any use to anyone but a child. And you probably don't want your child to use this. I think it's a polystyrene core, as I said, sheathed in a PVC shell with the Everlast logo on it. Somehow, this managed to necessitate a Prop 65 warning. I know PVC can be made poorly and off-gas some nasty chemicals, but I also know that that's less and less true as we have gotten better at making PVC. My guess is they've added phthalates or lead to the compound, earning them the warning. Want some cancer with your exercise? Of course, that's just a Prop 65 warning, everything is toxic, enjoy life, you'll be fine, etc... The plastic core, however, whether it's entire nontoxic or not, is absolutely shredded. To reiterate, I am very small. I do not have a lot of striking power. And yet after two months of use that was not continuous (this thing is not a joy, after all), maybe clocking in a very liberal estimate of 5 hours of total use, the core sheds a cloud of microplastic dust every time I hit it. Every time I tap it. This is stored indoors in proper conditions, not exposed to sunlight, nothing. It's just made terribly in every regard. Other reviews talk about the base, which is made with the attention to detail that you might expect from a walrus. I should hope I don't need to expound on that. Please, please don't buy this. I bought this is December, and so I'd love to return this for a refund, but if I can't, maybe I can at least dissuade some other potential buyers from wasting their time, money, and energy.

It broke
This thing was not worth a penny because it broke within a few months and it wasn’t used that much. Don’t buy save your money.

Great, but instructions and tool could be better
I am new to boxing / stress relief and bought the free standing heavy bag from everlast. I put 300lbs of sand in the bottom and it’s real hard to move it around. It is staying on the carpet, without a rubber matt underneath. Assembly was easy, but the provided tool is to short and there is no information, which bit size you should use on a ratchet (7/32 Allen wrench). Did my first workout today and really liked to hit the bag. I can’t say how long it will last for my home gym, but I guess long. I am 5ft 9 and am almost at the top end of the bag, in the highest position. Edit 10/21/2021: it just broke, after only two weeks, hopefully the customer service will take care of it. Edit 10/22/2021: customer support sent out the damaged part, which will take 5 to 7 business days to arrive. Edit 10/26/2021: got the new tube today. A tracking number wasn’t supplied, but it was quick, Friday to Tuesday.

High quality and sturdy unit when filled properly.
Packaging was one simple square box with everything in it. Assembly of the post and bag was easy and took only 15 minutes. I had read other reviews about the post to base assembly being difficult but did not run into anything too difficult. Only 1 of 16 bolts had trouble starting but you can bend the base around while placing bolts which help align bolts to holes better. I also read reviews stating the base material ended up too light and that there was movement of the unit while working out. I used stonedust instead of sand and have no issues punching and kicking with full force. I am 6’ 230lb so have some weight behind large strikes. No issues other than moving it is now difficult because base is so heavy. I do not recommend using water at all in base as it looks to be not completely sealed. I would expect spillage. Quality of foam and outer cover seems high. No issues. This might not be a stand and bag for a professional but it’s perfectly fine for enthusiastic amateurs.

Updated Review
I purchased this bag to burn off some calories and blow off some steam in the process. There are some pros and cons. Pros: Money for the value - Worth the price for something that has multiple uses and takes up little space. Easy to assemble- takes like 10 minutes to assemble and longer to fill the base with water/sand. Adjustable - The height can be adjusted just make sure it’s in the correct loop before punching. Cons: Moves easily- Even with the water in its base it moves around a lot. I have to constantly move it back in place. Maybe with sand it will give it the added 45lbs to hold it down. Spills - I have water in the base and it spills everywhere every time it receives hard hits. Again, maybe sand will fix this. In the end it is worth the purchase and definitely what I needed because I did not want to drill holes in my garage to hang a 80lbs bag or have a 5’x5’ stand that takes up a lot of real estate in my garage. Great purchase even with the cons. Updated review: After two weeks of use it broke and snapped around the base. The water kept spilling out of the bolts so I changed it to sand and it lasted one punch before it broke. Someone posted the same thing maybe it’s not meant for water as advertised. Anyways I gave it one star for the poor quality maybe customer service will replace the base and I’ll change it back. So another update, customer service or the return button on Amazon let me exchange my bag for a replacement and so far it has not broke. Maybe the heat and the water made it soft and brittle, who knows. If it breaks again I’ll post it to see how long it lasted. Update 12/16/23. After three months since my last return the bag has failed again. The plastic tube that holds the bag in place and is adjustable ripped off and is no longer adjustable. I screwed the tube down as there was nothing left to really hold the bag in place but now it is sturdy and can take a punch. This bag really needs to be redesigned it’s too cheap. I added some photos of the tube and the screws that I had to add. I use the bag about 4-5 times a week doing some cardio before I exercise so I don’t go heavy on the bag. I would definitely NOT recommend this bag to anyone serious about boxing. Last and final Update 04/12/24. This bag has no life left and finally gave out. The main support tube cracked in half and can no longer stay together (last 3 photos). The only option I have is to buy a 7” black pvc tube and replace the whole center column. Save your money and buy a different bag.

I’m going to town on it.
This is a good product. Putting it together is easy but it takes a lot of time with the screwing in parts. It kind of slide around a bit depending on how hard I hit it but I don’t mind. I just pull it back to its spot periodically. It’s still sturdy enough for me. I strongly recommend using sand instead of water. It’s a big difference in sturdiness. Plus it won’t leak. The screws become lose after awhile so be sure to tighten them up once in a while. All in all, it’s a great product for what it’s worth. I burn a lot of energy on it. I’m pretty happy with it.
