Screw on coaxial connections may be theoretically better but they are unwieldy and difficult to make. For quick and easy connections that can be easily swapped these push on connectors that simply screw onto the cable one time allow repeated connections when things need to be moved around. I used them as permanent connections for everything from routers to modems to TVs - anything with a coaxial cable - and have no signal loss. Do yourself a favor and switch to these adapters. You'll get tight connections on both sides.

I live in FL - SO MUCH lightening!!! I frequently have to disconnect my cable modem from said cable - I was sure there had to be something out there to make that an easier job... and then I found these little goobers! Ever so handy & they work! I got enough that I could put them on the TV connections too. Make sure you get them pushed on tight enough to get a good connection.
