These aren't bad looking oil lamps, but they are definitely nothing like the quality old fashioned ones. All the way around they are mid grade. The glass isn't that heavy nor is the metal. I have several that are older lamps and hate to say these will probably end up in a garage sale. For the most part they work all right and would work for an emergency light. They don't hold alot of oil so if you needed for a long term power outage you would have to refill much more often. I'd say these are better for a decoration than an actual useful item. They are also pretty small so don't put out that much light. I could see these more as maybe a mood thing or indirect soft light.
