I Almost Didn't Buy It!
I got this phone specifically to sit near the computer. I wanted corded because otherwise the handset migrated to other rooms or was buried under piles of printouts, or my kitty had knocked it off the work surface and I stepped on it.Then it was NOT a dedicated wall-mounted phone. I have lots of them and they are the worst - at least for me. First, where do you put the thing that you don't have to practically climb over the desk or move book cases to answer it? Number 3, it was a speaker phone. I think it is a pretty good speaker, too. Nice and loud and crisp. Maybe a bit too crisp, you probably don't want to listening to heavy metal when you call your mom. So, for those and several other reasons, I was happy with it before I even used it.SET UP:I won't say it was super easy. All I can tell you is to follow the directions word by word. It's something in the phrasing that messes a lot of US English speakers up. It also helps to read the entire instruction set first. It is short - maybe a little too short, but it does help. I was able to set up the basics - time, day, month, and a few more, without help, by myself. "So", you sneer - I'll have you know I can download and install my software and debug a program with the best of 'em, but let the clock need resetting on the microwave and I have to get out the instructions every time. It's not completely set up yet, but those are things like taking messages that I don't want to use anyway. One thing I especially like is the small window at the top. It isn't just a screen built flat into the phone, it tilts so you can set it for your best viewing angle.I would like to make a suggestion, tho. Could you expand that "User Guide" a bit? Maybe a few more pictures on the layout, and maybe (oh,it would have been so wonderful), a step-by-step quick start sheet? Just tell me what we are setting up (To set Time:) and then the steps (Press the [Set] button 2 times. Enter the time using the keypad (such as 10:47, select AM or PM, then click [??]to accept the time you entered. ..... etc).I'm not going to say this is the end-all for phones, but for what I needed, it is perfect.

Works well but mysterious product
I was looking for a simple desk phone with a speaker. I don't need an answering service or other features. Found this and decided to take a chance. First, it comes in an unmarked box without any labels or product information. There is no product name on the phone. The instruction book does not list a manufacturer nor is there any information on what to if you have any problems with the phone. No clue as to where it was made but the instructions mention Indian cities. It runs on 3 AA batteries but they are not required for basic phone usage. It stores and lists the phone numbers and time of incoming calls. You can store phone numbers, set various ring tones, even play music to someone you put on hold. The speakerphone works well so it meets my needs.Update: On a conference call, other people could not hear me very well even though I spoke within a short range of the phone (30 cm is suggested). So it is not very useful and I have lowered my rating accordingly.

Do not buy - this phone is terrible
So bad - the speakerphone is the WORST! Do not buy! The volume is low and hard to hear even when turned all the way up. The speakerphone is unusable - it sounds like you are speaking underwater.
