Excellent Product; Great Tasting Water!
We prefer the taste of water from this Brita System over the Fridge Filter...(We use the Blue 6-mo. Brita Filters w/ it:)Large enough that you're not constantly refilling, & small enough it fits on a shelf in a STD-Size fridge. My family loves it! Pair it w/ the Blue 6-mo. filters & no upkeep really needed. Large enough to comfortably get a Lg. hand inside whenever U'd like to wash. (I believe it's dishwasher safe- but NVR tried it)Durable, Easy to use, & with the Lg. flap to refill water & Lg. reservoir it contains- Refills fast & easy; Water tastes amazing!

Best tasting water
I have been a bottled water person for years. I had 1-2 cases delivered to me every month. That is very expensive. When I received my Brita pitcher(extra large), I read the instructions and rinsed it out and added my water to it. I watched while it was filling up and it was so CLEAR!! I put it in the frig to chill and then I got myself a glass of water. The taste was amazing. It was so fresh!! I made a pitcher of tea with the water and it was so refreshing. I fill up this Brita pitcher every other day sometimes 2 days. The puts her is easy to clean. I was not a fan of those types of pitchers. I thought it was just a bold face lie. I'll stick to my expensive bottled water that is delivered to my front door every month. Well, I have seen the light and it has been a money saver for me. I will be saving myself about $27 a month now. If you are looking at this product and you are unsure about it, just buy it. You will be glad that you did. I am!!! Oh, it fits perfectly in my refrigerator and I have a small frig.

Brita is a lifesaver!!
I purchased the Brita XL Water Filter Dispenser after moving in to a house that was on a well. The water was really hard and although it was safe to drink I still wanted something extra to filter it. The Brita works wonders! Ive been using it for 2.5 years now with the Elite filters and love it. This container holds alot of water and just looks really nice. The water that has been filtered doesn't leave hardwater buildup like it does pre-filtering. I love it!

TDS doesn't tell the whole story. Very convenient water filter.
I love my Brita. The filtered water tastes great and I'm helping to reduce the amount of plastic I waste by not using bottled water as much. NOTE: while this filter does not remove all TDS from the water, you have to remember that not all minerals in water are harmful to you. Using a TDS meter, this filter got my water from about 155ppm to about 127ppm. I would focus less on getting a 0ppm reading on your TDS meter and more on selectively filtering out harmful substances from your water, such as lead, which this filter does wonderfully. The topic of 0ppm water can be argued either way, but it's arguably less healthy to drink water that measures 0ppm on a TDS meter because you are depriving yourself of minerals you otherwise would have gotten from something such as spring water. Albeit you likely would get these minerals back from food if you eat an even remotely balanced diet. Do your research but don't be afraid of the fact that this filter does not filter out everything. It doesn't matter if this filter doesn't filter out minerals which are beneficial or cause no harm to you.The design of this unit is also extremely convenient. Not only does it hold a lot of water so you don’t have to refill it as frequently, but because of the way the lid lifts open, you can stretch your sink nozzle into the top of the pitcher without having to sit your pitcher inside the sink. Also, the nozzle design works really well in the refrigerator because you can put the Brita on the top or middle shelves and pour filtered water straight into your glass without having to remove the pitcher every time.

Took a gamble
I'd looked at various types of water dispensers when i saw these at a deep discount as a daily deal here. Didn't get it then. Wish I had, I could have saved $20. Not sure it's worth the price that's asked.I was concerned whether it would fit in my fridge the way I wanted it to, and rather than being too large, it's actually too small for my purposes. It fits nicely height wise, but it leaves at least 6 inches or more behind it to the back wall of the fridge. This would be wasted space. I put some stuff back there that I rarely use, but it will be a bit difficult to get them and will likely require taking the entire dispenser out.It took FOREVER to fill the first time. Over 20 minutes per fill, and it requires filling the top chamber twice to fully fill the dispenser. And worse, after all this time, you are instructed to pour everything out the first time you fill it. So then I had to fill again, and oddly, it was a bit faster the second time. I had an issue where I started to fill it and the water level wasn't rising, and I discovered that the filter somehow had a loose seal and water was pouring into the dispenser from around the filter, rather than through it.I took the filter out, dried out the part that serves as a seal and the area where it seats, and replaced it ensuring that it was pressed down fully into place (takes a bit of a firm push)It's worked fine since as far as I know.Instructions also say to never refill until you've emptied the dispenser, which I guess is to avoid stale water. But here's the part that disappointed me. I'd drank tap water, a few types of bottled water, and had small jug of spring water I'd recently been drinking. I found it to taste wonderful. So I looked forward to my new, perfectly clean water from the dispenser. But it tasted..... awful, compared to all the other types of water. And this has held true through at least three refillings. It's the blandest, most unpleasant tasting water I've ever had. Tap water tastes much better.I am at a loss as to why this is and am actually surprised they sell so many. Maybe it's just my water supply, or my best guess, that it filters out everything that gives water it's good taste. I will probably never know. But I'd hoped that this might increase my consumption of water and help me avoid other sugary or caffeinated beverages. But it's pretty hard when this stuff tastes so unpleasant.I've found that I've gone from drinking the whole tank in a few days to barely drinking it at all. Dissappointing.
