Electronic Gadgets for the Evil Genius, Second Edition

My husband absolutely loved this book! He’s only done a few projects, but so far it’s been a real hit! The corner of the book was a little ripped, but I’m pretty sure that happened during the delivery process. He doesn’t mind it though, so it worked out fine!

I have several of the books written by Iannini. After the first book I purchased new years ago, I have stuck with purchasing any remaining ones used. Here's why: most of the projects inside either point to parts which almost have to be purchased from his company or are so specialized as to cost a small fortune to make. I will point out though that with this particular volume, there are a precious few more projects NOT necessarily requiring specialized parts, but overall with this and the other books that's usually not the case. So, unless you are willing to spend a bundle on parts, or already have well stocked fabrication or spare parts in hand, try and look for this more entertaining book in the used section to save $. Also, one thing to keep in mind, even with this latest book (published 2014), some parts used are already out of date and will be difficult to procure and this situation only gets worse over time.

Great condition for a used book. I would not recommend these for first time project builders as some involve real risk to one's self and others. A understanding of electronics and electrical theory is recommended. Projects range from intermediate to advanced. But otherwise, I can't wait to start building!

This was a gift for my son and he was very happy he loved it

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my electrician brother who loves inventing little gadgets. He loved it. It did look quite technical, so I'd recommend some electronic knowledge or at least passion to acquire it. Some of the projects did look a little dangerous as other reviewers have commented, however if you're giving it to someone responsible there should be no problems.

This is a nice book, but it seems as if it seems like the book is reprints or photo-copies of the original book, the pictures in side are black and white, it just seems to me that a book produced these days would have colour picture not black and white.

I agree with others that the projects are fairly complicated but to be fair if being an evil genius was easy then everyone would be doing it.

Excellent books for those interested in electronic and the delivery was very quick.

My son loves it.
