I have a black lab that likes to lay out in the yard at night. However we have an abundance of coyotes and an occasional cougar that passes through the neighborhood so I worry about her laying out there in the dark, all alone.I had a flood light for the backyard but it only provided limited visibility and not nearly enough illumination to light up the far reaches of our property.I got this light thinking it would be a sole source of illumination and that it would light up the yard so I could see my black lab and she could see any predators. I'm not at all disappointed!This light is truly what you would want as a barn yard light or even lighting for a sports field. As you can see in the pictures, it lights my yard up to daylight brightness and it doesn't take 3-5 minutes to warm up like my old mercury vapor street light.Pros:1) It comes with all the screws, anchors and misc hardware necessary to install it.2) It's light weight enough to install on your fascia or other surface that is only capable of supporting light loads.3) It's very bright and yet, it uses little power since it's an LED light.4) The price is reasonable.5) It has a photo cell so it turns on at night and off during daylight hours if you wish to have it operate automatically.Cons (well, not really, but things to consider):1) It comes with an electric cable pigtail and wire nuts but nothing else for electrical termination. I spliced an appliance cord to mine in order to use a "smart" receptacle to control it. However, whatever you wish to do, you'll have to buy the parts and configure your wiring according to your needs.Overall:For the money this is one of those things you buy and then kick yourself for waiting so long to get it.I'm all in for bright outdoor lighting as it helps to ensure a safe zone for pets and people after dark.This particular light might be a nuisance for your neighbors in a city, but it's perfect in a rural setting or for a driveway, basketball court or similar.Even so, if you're in the city, there would be places and times where a light this bright would be practical and welcome.I've got other areas where I need a light like this so I'll be getting more of them.

And the halogen is also produce a lot of heat, while this one is much cooler, not to mention the higher efficiency to safe energy.Installation is very easy, just replace the old lamp and replace the 3 cables (black, white and green) with the provided connector (wire nut) and secure the mounting bracket with 3 screws.The only reason that I take out 1 star, because the photocell sensor doesn't work. It is too sensitive that It just turn on when it is really dark. And when the light is on, because the light is so bright, the reflection is too bright so the photocell is cut off the light. So I end up covering the photocell.It should use adjustable photocell to make it work for most installation.Other than that it is a solid flood light.

The parking lot light at the store was out and I'm always afraid somebody will break into my work van. We have cameras but in the dark the picture isn't that great. I installed this and it lit that area up better than I had imagined it would! Holy Smokes!!It's bright and now the cameras stay in daytime mode and the picture is perfect! I'm thrilled!It's brighter than the old metal halide bulb we used to have. And it's not very heavy either... I'm not so worried it will fall off because of the weight.I'd absolutely recommended!

Just don't use it near an airport! Your house might be mistaken for a landing aircraft.Way bright and as big as a dinner plate. This light is about as much as most of us can handle outside our houses at night. It's gonna be so much fun to annoy the neighbors if they happen to get outta line late at night with their back yard parties.So 5 stars and lotsa lumens from me!

This isn't a tiny light fixture, it should illuminate a substantial area.Construction is a mix of cast metal and plastic. Structural parts and the bulk of the house are metal. Not only is this construction valuable for strength, it allows for better heat disipation.The light has a photo sensor on top which seems to respond well to changing light conditions.Mounting the light can either be to a pole mount or there are locations to bolt it directly to a wall.Long term durability will take some time to assess. So far, I'm pleased.

This light puts out a lot of light! It's very easy to install and the 5000K temperature color is perfect for outdoor applications. One minor point is that the light sensor does not come with a cover, though you can cover it with something if you desire. They should have provided a cover of some sort if a person wants to run in manual mode of operation. Other than that, this is a terrific light.

I got this light to shine in my backyard during the night. It fills my yard with light and has been super helpful in keeping an eye on things back there. There is not much in the box. just the bracket and the light, but that's all you need to install. It does come with the screws and wire nuts as well making installation a breeze.
