Pubs & Inns of England and Wales: Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Eat & Drink

We were looking for a guide to places to stay for a short break - we like inns and pubs with rooms as well as hotels and there are plenty in this book but there are also a lot of establishments that do not have accommodation so only about half the listings are what we were looking for. Also, it would be very useful to tell us if the Inn has a car park or not!

I buy the pub guides to find which serve good food.I wasn't able to get a 2019 AA pub guide for some reason so I went with this. Really disappointing, pretty pictures and advertising but not enough details on the food. on some entries there is nothing about food served at all. Total waste of money and time and effort reading it.

Very interesting list of beautiful hotels. Have stayed at one and visited a number of others - working my way through this great, informative book.

Love the Sawdays guides. Always good recommendations !
