Wiring Kit and Horn Review
I recently was almost run off the road on my Suzuki V-Strom by a driver merging onto the freeway. She was singing to a tune and never looked into the lane she was changing into, which happened to be mine. I blew my horn which had no affect at all. My factory motorcycle horn is about equivalent in volume to a person blowing their nose with a bad cold. My only option was to speed up and get in between her and the car on my left. Once I got clear I was determined to get a new horn.I received my order in only 2 days using the standard ground shipping option. That was surprising since some of the stuff from Amazon lately has taken 2 weeks to get to me. I also ordered the optional wiring kit which came in the same box. I strongly suggest you get this kit unless you have a garage full of different gauge wires and connectors.Installation,It took me 2 hours to install this horn.ย Black Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn - Loud ย First it's not small so you have to find a suitable mounting place. Forget about mounting it where the existing hockey puck size horn is. Then you have to buy or fabricate your own mounting bracket because it doesn't come with any way to attach it to the bike. The one screw it does come with is stated in the instructions as having to be torqued to 50 foot pounds. For a horn? There are no written wiring instructions with the horn, but there is with the optional wiring kit. But unless you want to be confused, don't read the instructions and instead follow the wiring diagram which is the same on both the horn and wiring kit. The outcome was good but it took a lot longer then I expected. If you are not good with electrical wiring expect to spend even more time.Bottom Line:THIS HORN IS LOUD! It does exactly what it says it does. It corrects what I believe is a major safety flaw on most bikes and some cars. Why not five starts:The written instructions are confusing. Use the diagram instead.

Gettin' Wired
All the items you need for a proper install are there. Would have been nice to have a mounting bracket, but you can use the one that comes from the stock horn.My only caveat is the crimp on connectors. They don't work. I found myself in traffic, wanting to use the horn and-it didn't work! Hey, it blew away everyone in a city block after I installed it at home!?! Well, the bumps and grinds of the road disconnected two of the crimpons. The wires had just pulled out from them, while the crimpons were still connected-not very secure. I soldered them on this time-now they are going nowhere-but my Nautilus horn and my Triumph are going everywhere-and loudly!

Glad I bought it, it did help
The best parts about this kit are the clear diagram and instructions and the inline fuse. The connectors did not fit the wire gauge provided so I had to replace those. The wire length might work for a motorcycle, but not for a car unless your horn is close to the battery. I bought some 18-2 wire to run from the relay to the horn. Make sure you use a good chassis ground for the horn, don't just use any old screw that appears to be attached to the frame.

A must Have
I bought the Air Horn & wiring kit and quickly realized the need for the kit. I actually mounted and wired the horn with the stock mount and wire, but the horn on my VTX 1300C shares a 10A fuse with the brake light and turn signal. The horn worked, but if you honked more than a very short burst, the fuse would blow. I then rewired it using the kit and the included 30A fuse and relay, it is now considerably louder with the 30A over the 10A circuit. Don't waste your time, buy the kit and do it right the first time.

Indispensable companion purchase to the air horn
Spend the ten bucks. The horn, while awesome, contains A: the horn. B: a mounting bolt for same. C: a relay. D: a nearly worthless set of directions. If you buy this little kit it comes with a good set of directions and everything you need to scare the heck out of the neighbor's cat who is trespassing once again in your garage. The wires were sufficient length for what I needed. Had to get a little creative with a mounting point, but I expected that. Without the kit (and especially the instructions) it would have taken me lots longer and a lot of hair pulling.

Good Kit, needs extra connectors though.
This is must have to go with any of the Air Horns. the Wires were the right length to mount the Stebel Nautilus Compact Twin Air Horn i also bought, but only if i mounted the horn where my old horn was. My Bike is a 2012 Heritage soft tail classic.Wires were easy to run using the existing conduit under my gas tank, I ran a fisher wire and taped the kits wires to it and fished it through the conduit to the battery area under the seat.Actual wiring took me 20 mins all the connectors were there, however, if you mess one up you will be short as this kit only contains what you need no extras.

Love this little horn
Love this little horn. Put on my Ranger. Really Loud horn for size and price. Direction really suck, but other than that so far so good. Put on Ranger to use in case something happens in woods, so someone could find me or help me. I feel that it is loud enough for that reason. Good safety feature. Don't always have phone reception, and this horn is really loud. I feel so far that it has been worth the money..

Makes horn installation easy
This kit makes installation of the horn simple and fast. My only objection is that the kit had four blade connectors and two round ones while my bike needed six blade connectors. A quick trip to Radio Shack provided the needed extra blades for a couple of bucks. Otherwise, everything was well made and connected easily.
