Men's Cotton Summer Newsboy Golf Ivy Classic Cap Hat

If you're a Bostonian like I am, this cute 'n comfortable Boston scally cap expresses your Boston pride with style! The red-rust color goes with just about any other color and adds class to any casual outfit.

I'm a hat man : I have fedoras, Panamas, newsboys, big apples, etc. Hats are necessary. I am tall, tending bald, and work in field service in quasi-industrial settings, where I can easily bonk my head on pipes, valves, and machines I have crawled under; often in inclement weather, cold and rainy, or under the baking sun. Sometimes I have to wear a hard hat, but if I can escape that horror then I will wear this hat. It is wonderful for that purpose.I would not say it's a designer statement : there are other hats for that purpose. But for protecting one's noggin at a very reasonable cost, it is wonderful. Over the past two years I have washed mine many times, on Power Wash along with my FR gear, and it just keeps on being there, day in and day out. It shows some wear along the front of the bill (photos), but it's not falling apart. It has an elastic head band -- also wearing well -- and it appears that one size does indeed fit all. It absorbs my occasional sweat. Mostly, it has saved my exposed scalp more often than I care to think about. I mean, it is a really great hat, for what I use it for. I'll buy another in a few years when this gives out -- if it ever does.

I'm glad I bought this hat. It is really great. Unfortunately, the heat/sweat holes do not pass through the hat liner on my hat. Maybe it usually does, but that is why I took the 1 star. Most of these hats don't have the holes, and I was hoping they would be functional. They improve comfort a ton, and these are hot weather hats, not cold weather.

Have lasted a long time.

I had purchased one of these caps several years ago and was very happy with it so wanted to order another. Although this hat is similar it isn't the same hat as I was looking for. Weight of the material doesn't seem as thick, there are 3 vent holes instead of two, there is a snap on the brim which I didn't need or want. Although there was technically nothing wrong with the hat in the way of workmanship, it just wasn't as good as the hat I had previously purchased some time ago. This would not be a repeat buy for me.

I guess I have an average head, because this hat is neither too tight nor too loose on me. It's awesome. The look is nice, doesn't flatten my hair too much, and looks good with a lot of what I wear. Only thing is that the look of it is quite big for my head, so it makes me look like I have a small head or just makes me look kinda skinny. But other than that, the fit is nice! Will definitely consider buying more from this seller.
