One day, I dropped my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, and when I picked them up, the hinge was broken. My heart sank. I thought I was out hundreds of dollars for a new pair, but before giving up, I found this replacement hinge and figured it was worth a shot. It fit perfectly, just like the original, and now my headphones feel sturdy again with no wobble. Since the part is internal, you can’t even tell they were ever broken. The hinge moves smoothly, and everything feels as solid as before. At first, the installation seemed daunting, but once I got started and followed the steps, it was actually very easy. If you’re comfortable handling small screws and taking your time, it’s totally doable and way cheaper than replacing the headphones. Since I was already fixing them, I swapped out the old ear pads too. Now they feel completely refreshed. What was once a broken, worn-out pair is back to working like new. If your hinge is broken, don’t panic. This cheap fix saved my XM4s, and it’ll save yours too.

Sony offered to replace this for $100 (that was half my unit's cost in 2024!). All it took me was $15 here and around an hour - could've been quicker but I had a shaky hand with the small screws and also had to convince myself I didn't mess up that left side ribbon cable. I can confirm I didn't break anything. The box has a plastic bag inside with the part itself, a metal clip, and a small screwdriver. No included instructions, but just search on youtube "xm4 hinge repair" anyway. Provisional recommendation, if it's been some months without a "it broke again" on this review consider it an actual recommendation.

Perfectly compatible with my Sony 1000XM4’s. The silver color match is also great. I fixed my headphones with ease in under an hour thanks to these parts and a YouTube tutorial. If your headphones are out of warranty, the only option Sony offers is to send it to them to fix at the tune of $100. Madness!!

Been using it for 3 months now holds well. Taking everything apart is an intricate process take your time and take notes for when its time to re-assemble.

Pretty straight forward. Exact fit. Just look up a youtube video to see how to change it, pretty easy overall.
