Very pleased with this upgrade to 4K
Finally, a dashcam that will capture quality pictures of license plates.I recently got the BlackVue DR900S-1CH and I was really happy to see that it could fit into my previous DR750S mount and even use the same power cable- that saved me a couple hours of install time!Plenty of lengthy power cable with cable clips came with the DR900S if you are doing a fresh install.Functions great so far, I am loving the quicker access to the 5Ghz Wi-Fi - a lot quicker to transfer clips from the microSD card to my iPhone through the BlackVue mobile app when i am not able to get to my computer. The new H.265 codec makes the 4K file size suprisingly close to same size as my old DR750S, even though the resolution on the DR900S is better.I love the idea of cloud services but i am not sold on getting a separate mobile hotspot for LTE service AND a paid account for BlackVue.Overall, I would say if you are in the market for a quality dashcam, BlackVue is aiming for the top spot with the DR900S and they are not any pulling punches!pros:-wide angle 4k-fast file transfer speed-decent file sizes using H.265 video codec/ still H.264 capable-compatible with DR750S mount and cablescons:-no 256GB microSD support yet-optional cloud service with minimal free features-no built-in LTE

TOO MANY BUGS.
Watched all the YouTube videos related to this product and found pro's and cons. Decided to give it a try. Well. That was a mistake. My first issue was that the unit would not connect to WiFi. I tied many times and although the phone said it was connected, the software would not. I tried updating firmware to latest version and no success. They say it may have something to do with using 5ghz as my phone !ay not be capable of doing it. So I change to 2.5ghz and still no connection. As far as video quality. I love it. Parking mode does not have Timelapse. Motion sense is mediocre at best. It's going back as of today.

Works goood
I got this one to try out the 4k resolution. It works good though I wished it could see the plates clearer. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't use a USB cord. My car has an extra USB cord for charging the phone that I had used with my last dash cam but I had to run a wire when I got this one.

Garbage In A Nice Box
Pros:1. Wide viewing angle, 4K capability, on-screen text.2. GPS, WiFi, and large SD card compatibility (128 GB).3. Nice box and mounting hardware is included.Cons:1. Poor build quality; loose PCBs and case components that rattle.2. Overheating issues, especially in the sun.3. Goofy interface to retrieve clips and update firmware.4. Proximity sensor fails after a few months.5. Odd, off-center camera assembly placement.6. Can't adjust clip length; it is set permanently at 1 minute.See above. This unit is not worth the $370 asking price, not by a long shot. I did an entire YouTube series on repairing the rattling issues in this unit. The WiFi button rattles. The camera assembly cover rattles. The proximity sensor PCB is loose and rattles. I thought insulating these components would resolve all of the issues, but it did not. There are also overheating issues, causing the proximity sensor to eventually fail, after a couple of months of use. This is especially prevalent while driving in hot weather, or in direct contact with the sun. Once the unit heats up the sensor simply will not function, making footage marking impossible. There needs to be a physical footage mark button, not this silly dual-purpose sensor. The camera assembly is off-centered, to the left. It makes mounting the device more difficult than it needs to be. The BlackVue software really sucks; the interface to the camera is goofy. Combined with the permanent 1 minute clip length, it makes finding footage difficult, to say the least.

This camera is literally the most overpriced crap I have ever bought DO NOT BUY
Software is crap full of bugs. The dont tell you about the sneaky subscription you have to pay for to even use the cloud which uploads like dial up. Software wont play unless you get lucky , half the time it does not even play anything from the cloud. Better to go with a good 200 buck 4k regular cam where you have to take the chip out to go play on the computer, Thats what you have to do anyways on this waste of garbage camera
