These have a nice big surface which spreads out the weight of an object compared to the small pads usually available in a tack on felt. I had a little quality control issue that came right quickly but it was me, not the product. Intuitively you tap these onto the bottom of a furniture leg. However, you are tapping on the top of felt so the tap is attenuated. I tapped one and it went sideways breaking off of the nail. I discovered I needed to use the hole created by the previous glide or as J. Thompson suggests, drill a hole to insert it into. In most cases I was able to align the nail with the hole and press from the top rather than hitting the surface of the felt with anything. For example, I placed the nail into its hole and pressed it with my fingers to get it started. I turned the chair upright and pressed down onto the leg and the glide set itself well. If you do it this way, make sure you have something on your floor to protect it when you press down to seat the glide. I used a tarp and a piece of stiff cardboard.

I can't believe I'm writing a review for furniture glides, but here we are ... and you're reading this review, so I guess we're equally nerdy, right? These are a huge upgrade from the adhesive glides that came with our dinner set. I saw other reviews saying that these collect less pet hair around them than other glides. Pet hair is a major point of contention in our house, and our old furniture glides definitely caught a LOT of dog hair around them. Even with a vacuum, the dog hair would not come off without picking it by hand. These glides appear to be made of a similar felt material as our old glides, but for some reason, they really don't pick up dog hair! The dog hair doesn't even collect around the chair legs anymore, which makes cleaning a lot nicer. The glides are very nice. The furniture moves much more smoothly now and doesn't make those worrying scratching noises on our oak floors. I did find these to be very tough to nail into our hardwood (cherry) chairs, but with a bit of determination it wasn't too hard to attach these to our 4 chairs.

Saved my stupid bamboo floors!
I love these things! We have a brand new house and I stupidly had bamboo floors installed in my kitchen and dining room because the wood was on sale. I didn't know how soft bamboo was and how a light breeze can scratch and dent this stupid floor. It is beautiful for sure but everything on the planet damages it. We have a huge kitchen island with a spot for 4 barstools and the ones we got had these gliders on the bottom which I'm sure on any other floor would have been just fine. On my floor it was a disaster. So out of desperation I bought these and replaced them on all of our chairs. They are fantastic! They installed easily and in minutes I had them on all 4 chairs. The chairs now glide around smoothly no matter who is sitting on them. I am realistic and I understand wear and tear and we haven't encountered that yet but have backups in case we have to change any of them out in the future. We've had them on about 4 months. I love them!

Great product
Very nice quality - thick felt pad and good plastic base. One criticism would be the strength of the tack... You need to pre-drill a hole into the leg of whatever you're installing these pads on, you can't nail the pad directly into the leg. I used a slightly larger still bit plus some liquid nails in the pilot hole + under the foot itself and it worked perfectly.

Furniture glides work well as long as they don't come out!!
These tacks were purchased to replace older furniture glides that had worn through the cushion. Didn't think about this before I purchased, but one should consider the fact that being mounted on the underside of the legs, gravity could lead to the glide coming out. Unless you punch a new hole in the bottom of your furniture, you may end up stepping on this tack like I did. For me, these glides went on the underside of dining room chairs and the diameter of the glide took up the entire under surface of the chair leg. I couldn't move the tack without creating an unsightly and unprofessional looking finish. A screw on version may be a better idea.

Does what it is designed to do - Ignore the whines about bent nails
Unfortunately Amazon has provided minimal product description, So I'll try to fill in .. This is a nail-on nylon glide with felt pad attached. The pad is attached firmly, I tugged at it a bit to see if they would pull of easily and was happy they did not. The nail is about par for the course, a bit soft perhaps when faced with hard woods, if attaching to softer woods it will likely nail right in, for harder legs, like the cherry I was using, pre-drilling is a good idea .. I used a 1/16" bit with good results. The nail is someplace between 5/64" and 3/32". I purchased enough for eight kitchen stools/chairs ... 32 pieces. I'll update when wear becomes an issue.

Good glides...
Perfectly fine nail in pads work on tables and chairs with wooden feet....we had to drill pilot holes first in an oak table because the nail bent, but otherwise they seem to be fine. The nail on this brand appeared to be longer than the others, that is why I choose it. We have only used them for a couple of months now, and they are on relatively stationery pieces, so I would don't know how long they hold up, especially on well used chairs, etc.

They worked.
This was as expected. I needed to remove the old plastic feet guide and replace them with the felt bottom. Because there was a predrilled whole already, I just needed to use a hammer and tap them into place. I did have to do that gently or else it would bend a bit.
