Highly Recommended
Right after I planned my garden, my lumbar back decided to take a vacation, so the regular awkward, heavy, un-bendy hose was no longer going to do. (which is great- I hated that thing & was excited for the excuse to kick that thing to the curb.)I originally got the Hercules metal hose at Home Depot (I just noticed they have it at Bed Bath & Beyond as well) ... but I have to say, that hose is / was a pain in the patoot bc it would Never coil up right, and it was still just Awkward. My wrestling with that thing in the garden was Not cute. Also it would get hot.*This* little mighty hose is fabulous. I also wanted something less noticeable like the Green Lantern- hose that glows in the dark-- blending in, not so much that thing.Love! You have to get a hose-head, or whatever those are called, but nbd; Home D. is easy enough to access.

The hose is of poor quality.
When I first got the hose and hooked it up it expanded to the 50 foot but as soon as I started using water it shrank to probably 35 feet. I have good water pressure on my well which runs between 50 to 60 pounds. Also the rubber stress reducer at the nozzle and came out of the brass fitting and now when you try and use the hose it pinches itself shut so I had to tape it to the brass fitting to keep it straight. Also the hose already has two snags in the outer covering and I don't expect it to last long. I have five other hoses like this that some of them are five or six years old and they all are still working fine.

Surprisingly good quality, but not quite 50 feet
It seemed to be well short of 50 feet when I first attached it to the spigot and turned it on. It expanded to maybe 15 or 20 feet. Then I decided to read the directions--close the valve at the end of the hose after you connect it to the faucet and let the water pressure expand it. With that simple step, it did expand to 44 feet. Not 50, but good enough for my needs. The hose still has some flex to at at that point and I could probably gain a couple of more feet by pulling on it, but prefer not to risk the damage I might cause. It seems sturdy after using it a couple of weeks and has already lasted longer than the "as seen on TV" expandable hose I bought a while back.

SO CONVENIENT !!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT !!!
This type of hose gets mixed reviews based on the manufacturer source , I have tried a numerous amount of these . mostly because of my neglect . I have a desert landscaped yard with lots of cactus and I have ruined a number of these hoses thru my own carelessness . One little "poke " by a cactus needle and it's "all over" ... might as well throw it away because it then is not repairable .Now I am being more careful . A few prior purchases did fail due to their own defects but I returned them for a full refund . This particular purchase is my latest and so far so good ...it works as described and I can say that it is so convenient and simple to use !!!!

Buyer Beware - Arrived Defective
Very disappointed with this item. I read some of the reviews and overall the reviews rank well. BUT there are several 1-star reviews and I wish I would have had listened to them. Got the product and it seems like the packaging had been opened and possibly returned. But I could not see any wear or marks and the gaskets looked like they were brand new. So I took the hose outside and hooked it up and noticed the outside case of the hose was frayed. Looks like a manufacture defect but not 100% sure. Now the price has went up $4 so I won't be giving this company another chance.

Not even close to 50 feet.
Part of my disdain for this product is my own ignorance- I was thinking 5/8s, but this is 3/4. That's on me! There's practically no pressure, I'm guessing because there's not as much room for the water to go through.Main problem is the hose is NOT 50 feet, or even close (I have a 50 foot in the back, and it's laughable how much difference there is). When you have it closed off so that water can't exit the end of the hose, it might be 40 feet max. When you use the water with a nozzle, the pressure reduces, and it recoils back to what might be 25-30 feet. I bought this with an add on item, and if it weren't for that, I'd have this in the mail to be returned today. This hose is crap, and now I need to order one that is actually what is says it is. I ordered this because so many other customers rated it so high.

Ok for the price
Works well so far, we'll see if it holds up. You have to learn to live with the limitations of these hoses. No pressure unless you have a fixture on the end like a nozzle. Also, it takes a long time for the water to drain so that the hose shrinks back down. You will not get the volume from these hoses that you get with a normal hose since the inside diameter is so small.

Started leaking after just a couple uses
Bought this after reading all the glowing reviews. My 88 year old mom can't use the standard heavy hoses anymore. The first two brands of expanding hoses both sprang leaks after just a few weeks. This 'double core' hose was no different. Yes, the brass fittings were nicer that the cheap ones but the fitting doesn't do any good when the hose has three leaks after being used once a week for a month.
