Q: I would like to hang these on the wall. How flat are the backs of the house and are the to heavy to hang?

I do not have them out yet (not Christmas). They are ceramic, smooth and I believe the backs are all flat. I'm not sure how you would hang them on the wall though because there isn't any attachments.

Q: Is this the same set that bed bath beyond has for $59.99? if so can i purchase the housea separately?

yes, it is the same set sold by BBB... i have seen a couple of the pieces sold separately here on amazon... you would be better off to buy in the set option at either amazon of BBB.. the individual pieces i saw were expensive per piece.... i sent mine back.. for the price, the quality was sadly disappointing. the cutting of the windows and parts were skewed and crooked and one house was cracked..
