I ordered this kit to repair my Maytag Neptune front load washer's bearings, which had recently gone bad and made a loud winding screechy noise.It was somehow damaged by the outer-tub which had a crack. The leak allowed water escape and damage the bearings.I was able to take everything apart and patch the crack in the outer tub, replace the bearings(front and back), which I purchase through another vendor who had amazing price compared to the OEM parts. With a little force, it fit just fine. From what I've read, people installing the OEM parts would have had to do the same. Now the washer purrs like it should.More on this package:This seal goes inside the outer-tub, right after you install the front bearing(the bearing toward the front of the washer).Please note, that both rear and front bearings used in my applications were two different size, check with what is compatible with yours..This kit came with two large seals, as indicated in the picture, and a replacement nut & washers for your inner-tub and a small grease pack.(which you should apply to all the contact points to the bearings).After finishing the job, there were a few "left over parts", in my case it were the parts that were not compatible with my machine. So expect to have left parts from this kit. Instructions were very vague, definitely not a job for a novice like me, as I did spent hours trying to figure things out and A LOT of "elbow grease"(pun). lol Which is why I gave it minus one start for lack of details in the instructions. Make no mistake, this product did everything I needed to get the job done.From what I've read, seems a lot of Maytag & Whirlpool machine shares the same parts, so don't be mislead by the package description as this will fit certain Maytag Neptune washers, as it did for me. Check with your vendor if you aren't sure. I was able to find the parts I needed through Googling my model number.

the bearings were the right ones. my problem was installing. it requires a different puller than everyone offers or a little extra parts. i had some parts made so it went easier. make sure to get wire brush that fits in a drill to clean the area bearings go into. any little thing can change bearing seating depth. so clean everything . don't over tighten pulley and use a little lock tight on bolt. blue not red. if pulley comes loose it will put a few holes in outer drum. but gorilla glue makes a great epoxy now to repair.

Good product, but would like to see better installation instructions that addressed how to prep area where seal is installed.Also seemed to be not enough grease inside seal. Also no comment if shaft grease was compatible inside seal area.I 'stole' the grease from the other seal included in the package & added it to the seal I was using.It would be better to have a 2nd packet of grease premeasured for use inside the seal.Also no mention to use or not use shaft grease where old style seal rides on shaft. My thinking was not to place grease in that area, so I didn't.

Top notch quality. Wish there were better instructions or an explanation that there were 2 different seal& shaft designs. Also, my repair required a sealant because of corrosion to the bore.

I was a little confused by the description and thought that this part included the bearings needed for the washer repair, so when it arrived I had to wait additional days to get the rest of the parts. But short of missing the grease, it fit and worked perfectly. $40 repair (with all parts) to get rid of the jet engine in the laundry room.

I'm lucky that I'm married to a really handy man. Our Maytag Neptune washer is a little over ten years old, and the bearings went bad. Maytag doesn't make parts, you have to buy the entire drum for $450. We looked up the repair on the internet and went to it. We basically pulled the entire washing machine apart, cleaned the entire thing, and reassembled. We were ultimately victorious! Washer works again for a little over $90 for all the parts vs. $450 for the new tub.

I just got through saving major $$$ by replacing the bearings and seal in my Maytag front loader. Plenty of online tutorials to help with this project. The hardest part is getting the old bearings out. Make sure when the machine starts to make a lot of noise that you go ahead and fix it then or it will be that much harder. My machine is now purring like it did when it was new. I used quality bearings so I wouldn't have to do this job again anytime soon (hopefully it will last ANOTHER 12 years).

This lip seal kit is absolutely necessary for replacing the worn out washer bearings - we had a Maytag Neptune manufactured 2000. For our old model I only needed the seals and lubricant as some parts inclued in the kit are for newer washer models. You will need to purchase bearings separately, an inner and an outer, use brute strength and a homemade bearing puller with a lot of determination but it is possible to fix your noisy washer without purchasing the whole drum assembly (no longer available for purchase and very expensive). I am a petite lady and I completed the repair on my own other than needing my husband to remove the bearings. This kit hopefully will give my workhorse of a washer another 19 years of life.
