Fantastic quality, solid wood, arrived assembled and with no defects. The box walls are thick and sturdy, and the hardware is excellent. The fact that this comes with a lock & key and is far higher quality than I have come to expect from Amazon home decor means I have a new standard for what to expect from an affordable decorative wooden box.

I purchased the x-sm treasure chest, and it's perfect for a DnD prop! Even the lock and tiny keys are great! We will put faux gemstones in it to add to the ambiance of the game. I like how sturdy it feels, and it looks very well made. Thank you!

Update: After 3 orders that came without locks, I reached out to their customercare at nauticalcove dot com email. Got a reply same day on a Sunday and the locks have been shipped out. They are working on correcting this issue, so hopefully it will be cleared up soon. I'm now pleased with this product and hope the lock is at least semi decent as far as not breaking after two uses per some reviews. Enjoy your treasure boxes, these are nice ones for the price! This is a decent box for the price. It appears pretty sturdy. The bottom is a little thinner than I'd like as i am filling it with some heavy items. The metal detailing is very thin, but its decoration, so ok. The corner reinforcement pieces don't appear to be screwed in, so I'm assuming they are glued? Hammered maybe?the handles are attached with a brad type of deal, not bolted in so I wouldnt recommend carrying it by the handles if it has any weight in it. The first box was a bit rough to the touch, needed another once over with the sander. The second one was better and I added a finishing wax and it brought out the grain amd polished nicely, just a little upgrade. Overall I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the box. It isn't high quality, but for the price it's ok. The issue with this product is that although it shows it in the photos and said it's included, there is no lock. I returned the first one and the second one came without a lock as well. I know it's not a great lock, but it's enough to keep honest people honest and small kids out, which was the goal. Because of the style, it shouldn't have just a random modern lock on it, so I'm stuck with purchasing what should have been included. It's annoying and a problem they don't seem to be fixing. So. If you don't mind paying $110 for a falsely advertised product that is otherwise decent, go ahead.

I bought this when it was on sale and the quality really surprised me. This does not at all look like it was mass-produced, nor does it appear to be made with cheap materials. All the materials are high quality and the appearance is really excellent. The lock is a little finicky sometimes, but it's actually quite secure. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this but the box came damaged. The hinges are completely off and the latch is smashed down so that the box cannot be opened. This box is also not REAL wood. It is particle board with a wood veneer over it. The bottom fell off when I opened it revealing the material.
