Great buy for the money
My husband on the roof of our house. It is self directed. We have it hooked to three TVs. I would highly recommend it. We do scanned channels about once or twice a week.but I think that's just for the area has nothing to do with the antenna. We cut out cable and we get 40 plus channels on this. Would highly recommend

Easy set up
Bought this for a condo located downtown Toronto, that is within 1 km of the CN tower. Set up was easy, did not use the amplifier since we are on a High floor facing Lake Ontario. Got 30 channels, all the Canadian channels, plus ABC, NBC, PBS, PBS kids, CBS, Fox, Get TV, MY Tv, GRIT, Escape, Stadium Chanel and many more, plus one music channel. Picture quality is HD clear. I may try the amplifier to see if we get more channels.
