I considered buying one of the $70 globes but read that they look better a distance than close up, and had some other quality issues. I decided to splurge and I'm so glad I did. The colors are soft and rich, and the text is easy to read even with my older eyes! Because it is so attractive, I find myself looking at it several times per day, refreshing my memory of countries and capitals, and plotting the best route to Bali from Colorado...my dream trip, haha!!!

The globe is very nice, has nice detail. I expect it was more expensive than it should be because it is "authentic" National Geographic.

Last week, as we were wondering about the latitudes that Australia spans, we said, almost simultaneously, "We need a globe!" Two days later we had one on our dining room table. This globe is colored in subdued 'antique' colors with slight ridges denoting mountain ranges. It turns on its axis effortlessly, and base is quite substantial for stability. We are very pleased with both its functional and esthetic qualities. As a plus, It was shipped FedEx, which is far superior to the usual carrier ( the box arrived in one piece).

I could have bought a less expensive globe, but this Replogle/National Geographic globe is especially well made. The base is brass and has a raised design and N.G. label. The globe itself is thoroughly labeled and easy to read.

So shoddy I couldn't believe what it cost. The equaor line was a 3-d ridge, partially covered with the equator strip, but mostly the strip was crammed in and out between the Northern & Southern Hemispheres. I read poor reviews of replogle globes and thought I was avoiding one when I bought a Nat Geo globe. Wrong-o. Returned it immediately.

My wife wanted an easily readable globe for our travel planning. This one fit the bill nicely. The stand is a little cheap and wouldn't take much abuse so I wouldn't give it to children.

This is a beautiful globe. The little bit of relief makes it tactically interesting, too. And it looks nice on a shelf! : )

The finishing of the map pasted over the sphere is not good at all. its like a plastic ball having a detailed paper stuck improperly over it.....nothing much great about it except for the fact that it has NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC label over it.

落ち着いた色で、大変満足しております。息子への誕生日プレゼントですが、英語版であるほうがいいと思いまして、この地球儀を買いました。到着までに日数がかかることは了承していましたが、途中親切にも何度もメールで今地球儀がどこにいるのか知らせてくれて、とても良心的だと思いました。梱包もシンプルで、大変よかったです。

Attractive and sturdy. Just what we needed. Now we realize just how much we've already travelled. But there's so much more to see!
