An awesome vacuum and mop and incredible time saver!!!
Truly an awesome mop and vacuum. It keeps my floors looking spotless everyday, and I have a boxer, doggo. The mapping technique is very good at determining objects like beds and couches. It's a little taller than some other robot vacs I've had and it won't fit under every bed or couch but that's not a real concern for me. I do have some diagonal transitions, from carpet to tile and the app doesn't allow you to rotate the floor texture boxes, at anything but 90degrees. I'm hopping an update will change that so it can clean every inch of my floors. The install was quick and only took me about 2-3 hours. I used the drain in the wall, in my laundry room and cut the bottom out of the cabinet under the utility sink, next to my washer. It's completely hidden and out of the way. The clean water supply could have come from the washing machine but I went with the under sink shut off valve instead. I had an extra T-adapter for that size but they include one that fits the larger diameter, used on the washing machine shut off, for most houses, if you don't have the utility sink to use. After 2 months of use I'm shocked to find how full the waste bag is and that's the only maintenance required besides a quick wipe down. No filling or draining or cleaning the mop heads. The day before I installed it, I shampooed the carpets and used my floor scrubber on the tile, and it does a far superior job than I expected. I haven't had to use my hard floor cleaner since and I don't miss it, at all! I have my Dreamer, do the whole house first thing in the morning, during the week and a quick mop midday around the doggos water bowls. It has so many settings to play with, such as, clean after meal time or custom tasks areas, that I've not had before with the shark robots vacs. You can also have it vacuum before mop, or remove the mop pads during vacuuming, if you have really tall carpet or rugs. The mop heads retract up and extend out, like the rotating arm does, and you get complete coverage to baseboards, which I only was able to get with one side of my hard floor cleaner's roller. You would have a hard time prying this vacuum out of my fingers, as I don't think I would live in a house without it ever again lol. It will also take videos of your pet and it very slow when approaching them, if you set a passcode for privacy.

My first Dreame product is leaps and bounds ahead of the Roomba combo it replaced.
I recently got the Dreame X40 Master, and it’s been a game-changer for my compact apartment. I switched over from using the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Braava Jet M6, and I have to say, this little machine outshines them both. The floor cleaning, especially the mopping, is on another level—closer to edges, around furniture legs, and just overall more thorough. Plus, it’s super quiet. I can have it running while I sleep, and it doesn’t wake me up—a huge bonus compared to the noisy Roomba. One feature I love is that it cleans just as well in the dark, thanks to its built-in light. Maybe other robots have this, but it feels like a luxury for me. I almost went for the Dreame X40 Ultra, but when I saw that the X40 Master connects directly to the water supply and drainage, I knew it was perfect for my space. No more dealing with dirty water tanks or bad smells, which is a huge relief. Another big plus: the dust bag is larger, so I don’t have to replace it as often. Maintenance is easy too—the sliding shelf design makes everything super accessible. And speaking of design, the brush and mop are on swinging arms that actually clean all the way to the edge. It’s the little details like this that make a big difference. The lidar mapping is also impressive. It mapped my place so quickly, and it’s night-and-day better than the camera-based system on my old robot. I like how it can tell which rooms are dirtier and goes back for a second pass—smart and efficient. The mop pad washing and drying features work great and keep everything smelling fresh. My only minor gripe is that I wish the cleaning solution came in a larger size or maybe as a powder I could mix myself. Not a big deal, though. Overall, the Dreame X40 Master has exceeded my expectations. If you have hard floors (I can’t speak for rugs), this robot is a must-have. I’m really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, efficient, and feature-packed cleaning robot.

Water damage!
Unit failed and had a slow leak less than 2 months into ownership, by the time I found it, it ruined a 3'x4' section of my hard wood flooring. All plumbing and drainage was run by a licensed plumber, we even ran a 3/4" drain to keep the ejector run short to prevent clogging. I am devastated that my floors are ruined.

Powerful robot vac!
It was time to upgrade my robot vacuum. Did a bit research before spending a sum in this Dreame X40 Master model. So far it did an excellent job cleaning our hardwood floors. I like its compact design. The suction is quite powerful, picking up almost all debris on the floor. Obstacle avoidance worked quite well with good sensors. The extended side brushes do help with better corner coverage. The app is solid with multiple customizable features, though I have yet to use all of them. I used Alexa to voice control the device. Self-cleaning with auto refill and drain of water is cool. It took me a bit while to finish the plumbing work to connect the unit with a a sink nearby, but all good to go after that. If you happen to have a customized cabinet with enough space to store the base, that will be a neat fit. I feel this is a good investment. Happy wife, happy life!

Dreame X40
Good quality, good looking from packaging onwards. It does leave a strikes behind a specially if pads are not replaced frequently. I am using it for large commercial area, if used for home I’m sure it would be excellent. Customer support is good but for diagnostics only available through emails and working hours are on Asian time. They do answer the phone but can’t help with technical issues. Over all I’m very happy with product. It may sound expensive but it will pay off very quickly as you will not be cleaning the floors yourself or paying someone to do the job. Best off all is that is 100 percent self operated, no need to add clean water or empty dirty one.

A game changer for my home!
I’ve been using the Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum Cleaner for a few days now, and I’m seriously impressed. It’s smart and powerful. The suction is strong enough to pick up everything from pet hair to fine dust, and it navigates around furniture effortlessly without getting stuck. One of the standout features is the mapping technology—it quickly learned the layout of my home and now cleans in a logical, efficient pattern. I also love being able to control it through the app, set schedules, and even customize no-go zones. Battery life is solid, and it returns to the dock to recharge without any issues. This vacuum has made daily cleaning so much easier and has kept my floors looking spotless. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-performance robot vacuum, I highly recommend. Totally worth it!

Great product. Poor implementation.
Having used a Dreame X40 Ultra for six months, I was very impressed with it's performance: Powerful suction, great cleaning & mopping with a variety of options and schedules. I was so impressed, I bought a Dreame X40 Master: Auto-refill, auto drain, no bucket hassle, and compact design. You won't be just hooking it up, nor can you expect a plumber to do a routine job. The fittings aren't standard and will require multiple adapters to create a Frankenstein apparatus under the sink. Contacting Dreame support is a language disaster, and if you can get your support ticket escalated, you will wait many weeks for a response. My request to just buy the proper size adapter from Dreame has yet to be acknowledged. Expect to have an engineering mindset, a thorough knowledge of plumbing, and visits to several supply houses and retailers to complete the installation. I have yet to test the kludge of parts for leaks, and if your new creation fails, you won't be buying an off the shelf 3-way diverter to replace the one supplied by Dreame.

Dreame Robot Vacuums are Great, but the X40 Master is not as Good as the X30 Ultra
When I got my X30 Ultra, it was amazing especially compared to the Roomba and Deebot X2 Omni robot vacuums I previously used. I got the X40 Master because I was able to connect a robot vacuum to water hookups in my new house. I'm not saying the X40 master isn't great, but I was expecting less maintenance with this unit than the X30 since I wouldn't need to refill the clean water container and empty the dirty water container. However, this vacuum needs more attention than the X30. It doesn't avoid cables and similar items like the X30 did and will run over them causing the cables to act as a trip wire for the mop pads, so they get knocked off regularly and require a human to reattach the mop pads. This happens two or more times every 3 weeks. It also extends the mop and turns into objects hard enough to push the robot away from the object and that causes it to become wobbly, so when it docks the pads may pop off. In 8 months the mop pads detached from the X30 Ultra robot maybe 3 times. The X30 Ultra would kick out the mop pad and run down a wall, under cabinets, etc, getting most to all edges. The X40 master is not consistent. I watched it today in the kitchen and it kicked out the mop pads to reach the edge of some parts of the cabinets and didn't for other parts of the cabinets. This is a line of cabinets with no gaps. The X30 Ultra's side brush always ran. The benefit of the X40 Master is that the side brush can extend like the mop pad and it can be turned off when needed. I have found it is often off and is very inconsistent. The X40 Master gets lost and/or confused often, more often and for longer than the X30 Ultra. It go somewhere it's been, then go get the mop pads, come back use them for a couple of minutes, then go drop them off and go back to the same area and vacuum or just roam around there and it may do this several times. It may or may not recover, but it usually adds hours to the job. This isn't an occasional issue, but at least once every two weeks. Today it tried to start the morning job, but the mop pads came off, so it didn't run that job and waiting for someone to fix it. They were fixed and then it seems the robot started doing a whole house cleaning ignoring the schedules. The X30 Ultra did a better job of adding small rugs like the ones in bathrooms and at exterior doors. The following issues are with the X30 Ultra and X40 Master. When setting up a custom room job on the fly, you can choose settings that apply to all the rooms, but you can't reorder the rooms after selection, you have to remove rooms and read them in the order you want or you can choose to have individual room settings and then you can slide to reorder the rooms. With a scheduled custom room job the max+ vacuum and the vac after mop options are not available. With clean genius, there are no options for individual rooms and recording is removing all the rooms needed and readding them in the desired order. There is a global option to clean carpets first. This is designed for vacuuming and mopping efficiency, but it does this even when it is only vacuuming and vacuuming before mopping which is highly inefficient. One issue I ran into with jobs, mainly Clean Genius jobs, is that you can't set it to fully clean a room before going to the next room. For example, I had a job that starts at 5 AM to clean rooms away from the sleeping area, the front of the house, entryway, office, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room, so the office and the like would be cleaned before we wake up. Well, would have cleaned the office well before 9 AM, but come back in after 9 AM to do additional stuff when people were working. So I had to split that up into two jobs to make sure it would be fully done with the office before people started using it. The problem with that is you have to guess when one job will be done so the next job isn't canceled. Something that would help with this and would just be a good option for user customizability is an option to start a job after the scheduled time if the vacuum is busy, so the start time becomes don't start before this time and then there could be a don't start after time. It would also be nice to be able to set an end time for jobs. It would be nice if there were weekly and monthly repetition options, so you could set it to do something every two, three, four, etc weeks and have options like every 1st and 3rd Mon, Wed, and Fri of the month and for one time jobs be able to set a specific date to run. Overall I love this X40 Master, but it's disappointing that it's not as good as the X30 Ultra and they have had months to resolve these software issues but seemed to be more focused on creating the X50 Ultra and now are preparing for its release while neglecting this model.
