Resurrected my VHS collection
I still have old tube type tvs for the simple fact I have a huge videotape collection and all the flat screen tvs I’ve looked at do not have the proper connections for a vcr. I recently stumbled across this RCA to HDMI converter by chance on Amazon. It seemed like it might be the solution. I don’t own a flat screen tv so I had to connect it to my HDMI computer monitor. I had all the connections put together in minutes and powered up the converter. I turned on the vcr and could barely believe it when I saw the input message come on the screen. My monitor did stretch the image up and down and across to fill the entire wide screen and there was no way for me to adjust that on it, but it was still highly watchable and did not look stretched. There was no lag between video and sound. They were synched exactly. Unfortunately I had to work with the built in speakers on the monitor making for poor sound quality, but at least it let me know it was working. I tried to find a difference between the 720 and 1080p setting. 1080 did attempt to add a bit more definition to the picture however that increased picture noise so I kept it on 720. All in all, pretty darn impressed with this little gadget. Now I can break down and buy that flat screen and not feel as if I’m losing instead of gaining capability.

Good but has issues
It's a good product but I have two issues that came up shortly after install that I was hoping would have corrected themselves.* The switch for 720 and 1080 stopped working and now it only does 720, which is no huge loss for me. I thought it would eventually start working, but it hasn't yet.* The video jack isn't always trustworthy--it appears to be loose and can move a bit which will cause the device to stop working until it is repositioned. I'm planning to open it and check/reflow the solder to the RCA joint to see if that fixes it.When I open it I will also check the 720-1080 switch and see what's going on with it.I have not contacted the seller yet about it, as I want to finish troubleshooting and be able to give them a full description with possible repair.

Somewhat works
I bought this because the projector we bought for our rec room does not have a tuner and my husband wanted to watch football. Instead of signing up for cable we would rather have a $20 tv antenna so we needed this converter. It works ok, it does make a tv antenna plug into the projector with an hdmi.However, it reduces the signal somewhat. In our regular tv with a tuner the tv antenna picks up the local channels just fine they look great, if we plug this converter into the same tv with the same antenna the channels are coming in choppy or not at all.I’m not sure if that would be the same issue for any converter or this one is just not good enough. Overall though we can watch some over the air channels with our projector not as well as we would like.

Good for what it is
Purchased this to connect my very old DVD player to my new TV. Using the composite lines from the DVD player to adapter and optical line from their to the TV.It works, but the connections aren't tight so if it shifts the picture will go out requiring 'jiggling' the wires to resolve the problem.Not something I'd recommend as a long term solution but if you need a stopgap until you get around to buying compatible devices, this is a reasonable option for the price (especially if you don't have pets or kids that bump things and jostle the connections).

Good solid connection
Since I grew up in the days before plug & play I like to have assorted adapters & converters on hand. I’m very happy with this converter. It’s solidly built and has a good connection. I still have devices that use A/V that I want to connect to my old 3D tv and also my new smart tv. This does it perfectly. It’s So easy now to move it when I want to. The picture is just as great, even a little better actually! It is HD like it says 👍Definitely recommend.

Finally
I was not able to connect my old stereo receiver to my 55 inch smart TV for a year because my new TV stand blocks the video & audio cable slots. I was finally able to reconnect my old receiver to my smart TV with help of this product because the HDMI port was not blocked by the TV stand. Thanks.

Big improvements in image.
I have Dish Service. For the 2nd TV in my home, I was to run coax to the 2nd TV from the DVR. I used this converter and a 50' HDMI cable to replace the coax. The improvement was AMAZING! I used the RCA output to go to this converter and then the HDMI to go to the distant TV. The DVR only has 1 HDMI output. It was used for the #1 TV. This way I have a great picture at both TVs.

works
works as advertised. simple to install and worked correctly. Our particular game device is so old I cannot rate picture quality due to the game quality itself. Near as I can see it repeats the signal crystal clear.
