Coghlan's Flints, 10-pack

I have an vintage Colibri butane lighter and this flint is working great with it (i.e., throws a good strong spark). That said, with respect to the quality of the flint, it did take a bit to wear the flint so that the spark wheel was operating consistently. And here is the unrelated bad news: I realize the lighter itself isn't holding butane, thus I won't be able to give an update on how long the flint last. I do see a fair amount of residue building up, so it may be the flint is a little soft - but it does throw a strong spark after wearing it down a bit.

Works as needed for my vintage Cochlans spark generator. Package contains enough flints to fill behind the wheel and the back compartment.

these flints did the trick for fixing the igniter on my Coleman lantern.

They are smaller than the flint tube. They spark but not like the Robson brand...

Years ago, flint could be found anywhere. But when more and more people quit smoking, flint became much more difficult to find. Campers still use it, so it has become a camping supply no long found in drug stores. Flint does deteriorate, so if you have some laying around for many years, chances are you now have a small pile of powder. I found this flint at Amazon and quickly bought it for my camping supply box because at the time I wasn't sure when and where I would see it again. Quite frankly, I have not even opened the packet, nor will I until I actually need it. My advice? If you have camping equipment that still uses flint, buy your flint when you see it, not when you need it. Coghlan is a known brand and ten pieces will last a long time.

Purchased two different brands at the same time luckily. These arrived perfect and work great. Another brand I received I can not say the same for. Very happy I bought these though. When I need more, Coghlan are the only ones I am going to purchase from now on.

I bought these to go in an old Coghlan gas stove spark lighter. As soon as I put them in, the lighter did not work as well as it did with the existing flints. Not sure what the problem is but it would only spark every three or four times I pulled the lever and even then the spark was about half of what it was with the flints that they were replacing. I took them out and am using the old flint until I find a replacement that actually works as well. Wouldn't recommend them. Sad.
