Bought the 6000 series, broke on my 3rd fishing day with it. Used it for Michigan river salmon (6k is crazy overkill and still broke). It’s cheap, yes. But to break on the third use, not even worth the risk. Bearings are broke and won’t spin.

For the price it is good, this thing can pull in big red snapper. I got the 7000 and it felt like it could even pull in even bigger fish. The downfall is the drag, causes the reel to get stuck sometimes and the reel handle is too small and cause fingers to hurt. This is a good reel to keep on the side for extra use or for a quick deep sea fishing trip.

Good reel for the price. I use it for carp & catfish and it has been very reliable with an adequate drag for larger fish. One 3’+ Longnose Gar with several runs.

Great reel for beginners. Price is consumer friendly. Reel overall has a great feel to it. Max drag is excellent for the reel size.
