Easy setup / Easy Operation / Many options
The PowMr POW-M45-PRO Solar Charge Controller has many features. It auto-detects the battery voltage when setting it up. The display is big, colorful, and monitors and reports the essential points of your solar charging system. There are many options to easily change parameters within your system components so it performs well. The sturdy, robust case is very nice looking and the instruction manual is easy to read. Being an MPPT controller gives the owner an advantage over PWM controllers as it is much more efficient in charging. There are many built-in protections including: Solar panel short-circuit, Solar panel over-current, Load over-current, Solar panel reverse polarity protection, Battery reverse polarity protection, and controller overheat protection. These safety features make setup and operation easy. You can even set user defined parameters for the controller for those systems that may be wired non-conventionally. This controller is a workhorse! On a scale of ONE to TEN... PowMr is an ELEVEN! Highly recommended!

Not good
I must have gotten a bad one because it stopped charging the batteries after the 1st week. It also makes to much noise with the fan.

Best on the market 100 percent hands down 900 stars
Finely a company that knows how to build solar controller. This is a top notch with the fans it needs to cool easy set up and let me tell you. 140 amp it handles the power like a champ. Spend the money and forget the cheaper ones I have had them and they are not worth it. 25 stars for this unit I will be buying 2 more. Update on my first one still going strong so I bought a 2nd one let you know it does

An honest appraisal
Bought this to add to my recently expanded panel system, and am pretty happy with it. This 6.5 kW unit is ideal for people who want to bring a lot of power from their solar panels as high voltage and low current. That can be very advantageous. If you are going to use it this way, make sure you understand how ground currents work. If you don't you might get yourself electrocuted. No room for mistakes at/above those voltages. Pros: Handles 500V Voc MPPT tracking works good, and responds fast. Really generates 6.5 kW of power (at least with 390 V panel setup) On/off fan keeps unit cool effectively Does shut down when battery voltage reaches shutdown setting. Back light is good and does not turn off too soon. Connection terminals are pretty solid Settings good from beginning and fairly idiot proof. Cons: Fan is loud, REALLY loud. It's not obnoxious but you can hear it from 30 feet away in open air. Readings are off by about 100 W Doesn't directly tell you when in float charge mode, but it's not hard to figure it out. Buttons are a bit hard to press. You can't change the voltages (you can control current). This is actually a good thing for inexperienced users, but I would like override capability. Pay attention to: 500V Voc max, not 100, 150, or 160. No Inverter. This only charges. Only works with 48V and (based on menu options) 24V systems. I initially used silicone jacketed 4 AWG pure copper welding wire rated for 150 Amps to 75 kWh battery bank. Wires got quite hot after running 120 Amps for awhile, and unit can deliver up to 140 Amps. It worked but switched to 2 AWG tinned copper. Screw up your wire sizing (too small or CCA) and you will have a fire. Don't keep your terminals tightened properly and you will eventually have a fire or fried components. Conclusions: This is my second PowMr unit. I also have a 5kW 110V MPPT controller/inverter that has been running nonstop for 13 months. I like both units. This 6.5 kW unit responds faster but the 5 kW unit runs much quieter. I like the MPPT tracking algorithm on this unit. Bottom line: if you want/have a high Volts low Amps setup then this is an ideal unit.

so far so good
Honestly for an entry level mmpt this is a good value I don't know if I 25a trust it but so far so good. as for the things other people mentioned such as screen dimming that's a screen saver push a button it's decently bright when it's not in stand by stripping screws? Use the right sized screw driver and make sure your wires are properly seated in the terminals. The options menu thoug yes that is kinda a pain even after using similar controllers.

Better then expected
I have had this controller for a few months now and it does what it says it does. Yes fans are loud but nesscary to cool the unit when sun is out. I have 2400 watt 48 volt setup running 50% of my house and dropped my bill 300 a month. I switched from a all in one inverter controller to this and I am very happy my batterys never go below 51volts even on cloudy days

A real bargain for a 500V PV charge controller
Unit works great. I use panels with max Voc of 24v, so I can put 20 in series on one string. Be aware of the input current limitation: It can only use 18A of PV at 460v, so if your panel max current is 10A you'd exceed the device limits putting two strings in parallel. The fans are loud, as others have mentioned. But the fans don't run at night when there's nothing coming in from the solar panels, so not a sleep issue. The user interface menu 'system' is typical: minimalist but completely functional. I'm very happy with it.

Installed this on a commercial vehicle that has a battery drain. Kind of fun to see and know it's keeping the battery topped up. I do wish it showed the amerage but that's my fault for not reading about it better. I haven't tried the usb on it but I assume they work well.

I use these for 24 volt 245 watt panels to 12 volt battery bank, they work great, no issues

Seems to work ok but I would have liked to see the amps in the display not just the voltage

This product worked only about 2 months last fall and then just stopped working sometime over the winter at the cottage. It went completely dead over the winter and does not work at all now.
