It was ideal.

While I generally prefer an overproof rum or rhum agricole for making some Caribbean cocktails, it can't be denied that Bacardi is a decent tipple. It's especially good for making Cuba Libres, Mojitos, and home-made Kahlua because the molasses flavour, while present, is not overpowering, and allows all the flavours to balance out. I also use it to make a Haitian Christmas liqueur, called Crémas (see my photo). Traditionally, rhum agricole is used but given how expensive it is over here, I prefer to use something that tastes good, and is affordable. Bacardi is it! If you enjoy white rum, I don't think you can go far wrong with Bacardi. It's accessible, affordable, and widely available. Just y'know... drink responsibly! ;-)
