Gilmour Premium Complete Garden Hose Quick-Connect Set

Well, crap. I discounted/ignored the very mixed reviews for this product because I have had good experience with (what I thought were the same) Gilmour Quick Connect products that I bought on Amazon more than three years ago. If I recall, the reviews then were also somewhat mixed, but I found the Quick Connect products quite easy to use and reasonably durable, i.e., I'm still using the original two sets after three years with no problems. I made this purchase, expecting to use the new set with my original Quick Connect products to give some added flexibility to my watering set-up. Unfortunately, these are NOT the same as the original Gilmour Full Flow products, which apparently have been discontinued by Gilmour. My fault, I guess, for not looking more closely at the picture. Both versions look very similar and connect to a standard garden hose, but the actual quick connect fittings on the newer version are more narrow than the original, so this set is NOT compatible with my original Quick Connect products. Very disappointed. Trying to decide if it makes more sense to return these or figure out some way to mix with my old Quick Connect products. Frankly, the new products also don't feel quite as durable, so that might be the deciding factor.

Eh. Its half ok. The reason I purchased this quick connect set was for the shutoff quick connect. The other quick connect it comes with works great.Pros:The pass-through quick connect works well.Feels quite high qualityCons:The quick connect with the shut off valve is a pain in the butt to un-do and you can barely even do it.The threading on the pass-through quick connect is backwards (the big connect part should be female threads where the connector piece should be male)Overall I would not recommend this product, I have not found a good replacement yet.

These did not work for me. They are plastic, and they do not really connect well or disconnect well. They can get stuck even when you release the water pressure and use the small turn off valve they do not release well. My wife struggles getting them connected and disconnected. I will have to keep looking. Probably go back to the Camco ones I had. Those work great till they don't if that makes sense.

The connections go together easy enough, but the female valved piece does not want to release the male counterpart. Nothing I do makes the pieces come apart without considerable force. The un-valved connection works great, but the valved on, not so much.Probably won't buy this brand again.

these are crap. the old Gilmore connections that had green and black on the pieces were good usable connections.these do not work. it is hard in fact impossible in some cases to relase the male end from the female end. I just threw a shut off away because I could not get the connection out at all and broke it trying to release the two pieces..I am a gardner and these are important tools for me. I am looking for an other brand because I won't buy Gilmore again.

I get that's it meant to be cheap, but at least it should work... very hard to connect male and female with valve. almost impossible to disconnect male to female with valve. the regular male to female not too bad. bad design on valve pieces. needs more space to push back collar. one of the problems is the plastic inner parts, not correctly sized..... causes sticking.

this functions, but with some difficulty. the plastic isn't that durable, and the quick release mechanism isn't very "quick release". it often takes a couple of attempts, considerably force, and some luck to release one of my handles. otherwise, after about 5 uses, it's held up well. the shut off valve has been extremely handy and overall, usable, especially for the price point. just don't expect a perfectly working quick release valve. the quick release on my foam gun is significantly easier to use compared to this.

Been trying to get a shut off valve to go at end of hose for ages. This has got the lot.

Very Good Quality!

These were garbage. I bought two packs. One pack leaked from the dial from the time I opened it. Shortly after, the springs let go and I could no longer unlock the clamps. The second pack leaked after a week or so of use. Today (less than 1 month of use), when I gently pulled the hose along the ground (no tension), a plastic connector snapped in two.

Seems to be pretty cheap quality but so far they have done their job without failure

The female hose end connector with water shut-off valve had to be pried off with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver as it was 'locked' on. Really defeats the easy on easy off feature!So I have returned it for a refund.
