I looked at about 50 sets on different sites. I found about 3 sets I liked, but they didn't have the numbered and lettered margins I thought may help my young grandsons. Then I found this one. It seemed perfect and got great reviews. So, I settled on this one. As soon as it was received my grandsons attacked the package and cheered. They loved how beautiful it is. The magnets work well. The board lays flat. Th pieces are smooth and well made. They have been playing Chess every since. We found an activity that is better than those mindless video games. Yay!!!

Nice chess game. It is well made and light.. Easy to play with kids. The color of the wood is perfect. This is a perfect gift for 7-10 yr olds. The size of the board is appropriate Asa regular board game.

Nice chess board. Got the for my daughter that just started playing chess, great for 10 year old who started learning how to play chess. 15 in board is made with nice wood. The magnets chess pieces are nicely crafted. Well worth it for the money.

I have never played with wooden chess set and decided to give it a try. Megnatic board is very useful while playing also quality of set is nice.Something that Iook forward to and want to play.

Beautiful quality. The beginner instructions are very small font for even an older glass wearing person. Maybe they were just saving a tree after all the wood used to make the set. My wife and I are beginners and like the pieces. TY

The box is nicely built with no wiggles, all pieces are stored firmly within the box and secured properly. The finish is nice and I didn’t notice any scratches or issues. The magnetic is not too strong but enough to make it work,. I would say its a nice chess board for the family.

The one I received was not the one pictured on the website OR in the photographs taken by other Amazon customers in the reviews. I specifically chose this chess set because I really liked the coloring of the wood board, but the board I received was completely different than what was pictured - instead of dark wood around the border it was medium-light wood, vastly different, and the letters and numbers were embossed in gold paint instead of the light tone in the photos. Just completely different than what is pictured, very disappointing, will return.
