Poor quality pages and print
The pages and the print quality was poor. Looked like a pirated copy. The cover was fine. I did not read the book because I returned it.

Design not good
They went lazy and cheap with the design...black text in yellow pages with zero illustrations... the first 2 books in the series for the same cost had good design

I found this book at my local Ollie's. I have been looking for ways to stop stressing about past incidents that have occurred in my life, like unpleasant interactions or past mistakes. This book gives 99 guidelines that are basic ways to live life and simplify your life. What I took away from this is to concentrate on myself and stop trying to solve everyone else's problems. This book was written after the COVID-19 pandemic. There are several references to that time period and how people had to be socially distant. The only part that made me reread it over again was the use of the phrase "armchair quarterback". This doesn't seem like a term a monk would use. A great read and reminder to remember what is important: You. #CillasBookManiacs

Shunmyo Masuno is my hero, and has been since the day I picked up his first book. There are so many lengthy and complicated academic books to improve mental health in this modern world, but actually what Shunmyo provides is a tool to help you reframe your world through his carefully chosen, minimal words, to bring a healthy new perspective to your life. The book is short, which is a testimony to his great ability as a life teacher - only a great teacher can get such perspectives across in so few, yet profound words. I would have benefited from the beautiful illustrations that were seen in the two previous books; Zen The Art of Simple Living, and Don’t Worry, which I have missed not being in this book, but regardless I feel fortunate to have more from Shunmyo to reflect upon. Thank you Shunmyo for writing another book :)

I love the advice in this book and I find myself returning to it again and again. The chapters are short and easy to digest so I can read them on my phone while I am waiting for the bus or waiting in line at the grocery store. Wonderful reminders to slow down, let go of worry, and enjoy life, perfect for someone who tends to be anxious like me. So helpful!

I love the his books. His first sits by my bed and I read it likely to be monthly. It's beautiful in words and illustrations. Opening this book and seeing none of the beautiful artwork that really made the first book amazing really made me lose interest in this book. The lessons are great but the book as a whole lack the beauty of the first book. It's a real shame and one I will not go back to.
