Bob Warden's BEST COOKBOOK of all his writings!!
Bob Warden is a superb chef and I come from a Louisiana tribe of great restaurant chefs and outstanding very accomplished home cooks. Buying this cookbook of his was my pleasure!!This cookbook of his is my most favorite of what he's written. It's so easy to follow his recipes and there are so many great pressure cooker recipes of the many things I cook weekly and monthly. He really taught me by his being on TV, how to prepare so many great recipes in a pressure cooker that I used to be afraid to try cooking, because I was afraid to use my two pressure cookers. I have one that's electric & another for the stove top. All of Bob's recipes are easy to use, to make gossip-worthy dishes, and I hope he keeps teaching us all how to use his skills as a chef, to use innovative cheffy products like my pressure cookers!!

Good recipes, but not enough of them.
I recently purchased an electric pressure cooker (that gets to 15 psi, which is the same pressure stove top models achieve). There were no look inside previews for this book so I was flying blind and I decided to buy this book strictly based on the reviews. I thought I'd write a review that covers areas that were not covered by some of the other reviewers and might have made a difference in my purchasing this book. What I liked about this book. The directions for the recipes are very well written, they contain the same information about each dish, including prep time estimates, cook time, pressure needed, and servings per dish. The book is also very well organized. The pages are color coded so from the outside of the book you can turn to a section knowing it will contain beef recipes, chicken recipes, or so on. Every recipe has some kind of tip about the recipe, some on making the recipe slightly different to please different audiences or a tip on how how to up the flavor. There is even a light cooking section that contains 14 recipes and the nutrition information for those recipes. Warden also includes timing charts for very common meats and vegetables. And finally, there are no recipes that would turn out faster through other cooking methods or are better to other cooking methods. That type of filler seems to plague some other pressure cooker cookbooks and usually leads to disappointing results. What I didn't like: Too many pictures (this might not be a negative to some), I enjoy when an author includes pictures demonstrating presentation of a dish that might not be common to the American public, however more often than not there are pictures of common dishes like macaroni and cheese, shrimp alfredo, or chicken noodle soup. I'd have rather those pages contained more recipes. Another gripe is that nutrition information is only contained in the "lighter" cooking section, it's a shame that this was not expanded to include the whole book. I also wish that they had more recipes per page or had reduced the size of the book, 120 recipes take up 208 pages and the book has a large profile. Finally I wish Warden had given readers more room for innovation, the difference between a good pressure cooker cookbook and a great one is the ability to show the cook avenues to innovate (or 4 vs 5 stars on Amazon). Some pressure cooker cookbooks do this through discussion of things that work well in a pressure cooker, and others spend a lot of time on substitutions, Warden does neither. But what you really want to know is are the recipes good? So far I've tried 4 of these recipes and they have all been winners that I would make again. The recipes are also not off the wall with hard to find ingredients or super exotic recipes that might not appeal to most (which is good for a cookbook this length). I'm looking forward to trying more recipes from this book. It will definitely be used. I can already see myself making some of the dips for future parties. That being said, if I was to have only one pressure cooker cookbook I would go with Pressure Perfect: Two Hour Taste in Twenty Minutes Using Your Pressure Cooker or Miss Vickie's Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes .

A Great Cook Book for Learning to Use a Pressure Cooker
This book was not written specifically for the Instant Pot which is the specific pressure cooker I have but even though I am a total beginner in using a pressure cooker, this book makes every recipe clear and straightforward.Things I like about it:It has excellent pictures of the result of almost every recipe. Each recipe follows the same pattern. On the left side of each page is the Shopping List. On the right of each page is a clear numbered step by step explanation of what to do next. In the bottom left-hand corner of each recipe page, there is an extra paragraph about something helpful. These are called different things: Play it Safe, Make It a Meal, Make it Faster are three examples. At the back of this book is a very helpful "Cook Times Reference". Each section has the same headings: Type, Size, Liquid, Time, Temp{erature}, Release, Frozen. So, for example, if I wanted to pressure cook sausages, they can be any size, the liquid I use should cover them, the time should be set for 10 minutes, the temperature set high, The release is Quick {this is clearly explained in the book,--I found it helpful to put a paperclip in the page where the different releases are explained-} and if my sausages were frozen, I would add 7 more minutes to my time. The next thing I am going to pressure cook will be a whole chicken. The instructions are for a chicken between 2-3 pounds, I will add 2/3ds of a cup of liquid, set the timer for 8 minutes, and the temperature on high, and release the pressure with the Quick setting. The frozen column says N/A!Some recipes: Tangerine CheesecakeApple Cranberry ChutneySpiced Rice PilafChicken {Breasts} with Stewed Cherry TomatoesTangy Lentil Salad {delicious!}The Best Ever Macaroni and CheeseTender Poached SalmonI highly recommend this book. Not only am I now feeling very comfortable with my pressure cooker, but all the recipes I have tried so far have been both easy to make and taste good.

Great pictures and many comfort food recipes right up to desserts!
I haven't actually tried any of the recipes, but the book makes sense and I think the recipes will work wonderfully. In fairness, I just got the book and haven't yet had time to dive in. There is an excellent recipe for Honey Mustard Corned Beef in there that'll be my debut dish with this cookbook (nothing makes corned beef more succulent and tender than a pressure cooker). The pictures are gorgeous and plentiful and the instructions are clear - all in all, I think this book is an excellent buy and I'm very glad to have it.Later - I did make a brisket piece and disobeyed the timing in the book as I thought it too short. The book was right, I was wrong. I then read more recipes in the book and am eager to try many of them - more than I've read in other Instant Pot books. I really think this is the best IP cookbook I've seen to date, including the ones I've borrowed from my local library.

Super recipes.
Great book, although measurements are in American it's easy to adapt. I've made some really tasty one pot meals. You just bung everything in and in less than 1/2 hour there's a fabulous dinner ready with all the flavours kept in. Delicious!

The recipes are wonderfully flavourful and easy to follow
I bought this book along with my Instant Pot IP-DUO60 purchase. I have never used a pressure cooker before and I knew I'd need help! Well, I have found it to be a fabulous book! The recipes are wonderfully flavourful and easy to follow. The book is laid out very nicely, there are no "far out" recipes or ingredients, and it is written with a friendly tone that makes you feel as if Mr. Warden is right there chatting with you about cooking. There are great hints and tips for many of the recipes and superb pictures for most of them. Even my husband has enjoyed using this book - he's become an expert at "Best Ever Macaroni and Cheese" and tonight he's going for "Kiss the Cook Baby Back Ribs". My mouth is watering already.Mr. Warden's "Easiest Ever Chicken and Dumplings" wowed my entire family with how good it tasted. "Cheeseburger Macaroni" is another favourite, and his "Chicken Noodle Soup" just nursed my teenage son through the chicken pox - with the other four of us liking it so much I had to make a second batch!Don't miss out on this kind of mealtime joy - just get the book.

Love your pressure cooker love this book
Excellent book though written for the American market so some ingredients require translation to UK. But generally very good and usable recipes.

Good Instant Pot Book - Try The Ribs!
This is a good Instant Pot book. The Kiss The Cook Baby Back Ribs are delicious and I make them alot. I only wish the author used more natural ingredients in his recipes. He relies alot on canned items and velveeta in his mac n cheese.
