Tuga Girls Reversible Bucket Hats - UPF 50+ Sun Protection Sun Hats

I bought this for my daughter (five), and another in purple for my younger daughter (three). They are great for both of them. Very wide brim for keeping the sun COMPLETELY off the face.I do wonder sometimes if they block visibility because the brim is so large and can flop down a bit--sort of like blinders on a horse maybe? That's what I worry, but the kids don't seem bothered. I am happy so far that it isn't getting really droopy like some other hats I bought that were super cute with a wide brim and then after they got wet they because useless because they completely lost the brim and just became hats with a hanging floppy piece of fabric in the eyes! These ones are not cotton--they have some sort of stiff material too so I think that could help. It says nylon, spandex and nylon taslan (which I'm unfamiliar with). This also means they can get wet and dry easily.The tie is really good too and can be adjusted. The colors are SO CUTE, really nice. I actually totally forgot this was reversible until I went to write my review just now. We haven't tried this out. I am not sure they would really want to wear it on the white side but you never know. Nice to have the option I guess.As far as size goes, they are fine because with the tie you really can't go wrong, and there's room to grow so these will last a long time.Overall, this is a must-have for kids in the sun.

To be honest, I was not excited about the $22 price tag and almost passed these by. I initially only ordered one for my son because he’s not good about leaving hats on so I hoped the chin strap would keep the hat in place a little better. Once it arrived and he tried it on, I immediately ordered one for my daughter to wear on our upcoming beach vacation. The hats are a cute design with fun bright colors, well made, have a highly functional and sturdy chin strap, and are constructed of lightweight and comfortable materials. Both of my kids’ heads measured 20.5” which is the tail-end of the medium size, but because of the price and my hope to get some use out of them for multiple years I decided to order both hats in a size large. The hats are a still a little big but aren’t falling into their faces either. And if the chin strap is used, will stay in place just fine even on a breezy day. So happy to have found a great quality sun protection product that my kids are excited to use!

This was part of her “sunny day” Easter basket along with sunglasses, towel, sunscreen, etc. She is picky so this was perfect.

Very nice hat! This hat is a vibrant pink, and very good quality. It fits perfectly (my daughter's head is 21" in circumference), and she loves it. The brim is a big floppy, and a little longer than I thought, but this is actually great as it will give her more sun coverage. All in all a very nice hat. I would definitely recommend this product to someone else.UPDATE: 2015/01/19 - Washed the hat(carefully following washing instructions) for my daughter prior to our trip. Unfortunately when it was dry, I noticed the seam around the brim of the hat had come un-stitched. I was very upset as she hadn't even worn it yet. I contacted the supplier via email, told them the issue, and forwarded pictures of the stitches. They immediately contacted me back, clarified the issue, and are sending me a new hat! Wow, talk about amazing customer service (a big thank you to Elizabeth in the Customer Service Department). I was so pleased with the outcome, I would recommend them even more! I can't believe how quickly they resolved this issue. Thank you!

I bought the same style hat for my older daughter a year or so ago, and we loved it. I tried hers on my younger daughter's head to determine size, and figured a medium would be best as the large was too big. The medium I received is pretty much the same size as the large! I'm going to keep it because returning it, as it's not huge on her, but I wish it hadn't been so large. I'm not sure if it's a size fluke or not, but I think it runs big. The hat is really well made though, and my older daughter loves hers. We like that it it has an adjustable strap, so it's more comfortable for her to wear and it's cool.

So I bought two, one medium and one large, for my 2 & 5 year old. The medium is maybe a tad bit but I figured that and as I am cheap, I err on the side of buying large. Nonetheless the drawstring holds both hats on well. I just got even more attentive to sun safety because of an early melanoma spot removed, and now knowing most damage is done as a child, we're trying to figure out how to protect them but let them be the outdoorsy kids they are. And they LOVE these hats. I haven't had any push back from them for wearing them. We haven't used the reversible-ness of it, but that's nice to have. Totally worth it. Totally awesome. Would recommend without hesitation. Just ordered an adult Tuga hat for myself. This is a great brand.

My daughter leaves it on her head the entire time. Doesn’t even try to take it off. I don’t know what makes this hat different than all of the (many) other hats we have bought before, but none have ever lasted even a minute.

Bought this for my 5 1/2 yo daughter who has a smallish head (seems small). Got the medium size and it works. It might be on the large size but the chin strap is easy enough for her to adjust so the hat stays on her head. She wears it at school which means it's comfortable. The brim is large enough to provide plenty of protection without the effect of wearing blinders. Overall we both like it and hope it fits for a while.
