Excellent dipole; great SWR
This dipole is fantastic. It is well constructed, light, and excellent for the price. It yields a consistent 1.2 on the SWR meter.

Good, but not great
After waiting almost 2 weeks from placing the order the package had to be traced. Although not the sellers fault the delivery time was estimated to be between April 2 - April 17 (16 days???) The antenna is decent quality and I have it mounted on my roof.-The reason I only gave it 3 Stars is that the SO239 connector is short threaded. My coax had to be fitted with a 'short thread' PL-259 plug. My other complaint is that the antenna resonates best around 147MHZ, other frequencies need tuning.

Not tuned to 2 meter Amateur Band
Everything is great with this antenna, until you try to transmit on 2 meter Amateur Band (144-148 MHz). On 2 meters the SWR is off the scale ... approximately 8:1 on 146.000 MHz (center band). I measured the elements and each was 17 inches long. The dipole element length calculation formula for a 1/2 wave using two elements is 468/frequency MHz, and divided by two would be the length of each element in feet independently, and multiplied by 12 would be inches. Using this formula I reverse engineered to find 165 MHz is the center frequency for this antenna (468/165=2.836/2X12=17.016 inches each.) In order for this antenna to work on 2 meters, without blowing your radio's final transistor, each element should be about 19.2 inches long, thereby making the purchase of this antenna more of a project than a solution. Most antennas are built too long so we can trim them shorter, but this one is obviously designed for higher frequencies that do not involve Amateur Radio. The fix for this is to replace the elements on this one with two elements measuring 19.2 inches long each, and if you get it back together it will look really nice, and work really nice, but you could have done this on your own. If you want a project, buy this antenna.Douglas E. TrappKC6ZOFIrving, Texas

Fantastic little dipole, well built
This is an awesome little dipole, I set this up under some tree cover and against my deck to really test it out and it did quite well. I have two 2m repeaters that I can hit from the house that are 10.6 and 10.7 mi away with my Baofeng UV-5R paired with a Nagoya NA-771 but struggle at times to do so. This dipole cleared that right up. It could probably benefit from a tuning but I bought it for portability and it gets the job done. I tested it at ground level with an 18’ run of RG-58. I also saw improvement on 70cm as well. Use 550 paracord as your tie-off rope, the holes in the insulators are the perfect size for it. The instructions are very clear and simple for those who may not understand how a dipole works.I would’ve given it 5 stars but the silicone used on the housing at the base of the elements was already starting to peel straight from the package, I used good 3m Temflex tape to seal it up so it’s good to go now. Also don’t let the picture of the package fool you the elements aren’t as long as they look, my guess is that’s most likely a 6m setup the elements are the proper length for 2m

works great.. horizontal or verticaly
wow,, i was surprised after how bad the 11 meter version sucked,, this 2 meter antenna worked so well,, i even hung over a closet door and it still was hitting repeaters 30miles away inside the house.. turned it sideways and got 2 meter ssb like no tomorrow.. was great to be surprised with a good product for a nice price too..

Not for 2 meter.
Shipping was fast for me. Product does match description. As in, it is not a tuned 2 meter antenna. You have to cut open the ends (no returns after that) and start adding/cutting wire to bring it into the correct band (2 meter, I cut off 10 inches total). Out of the bag it seems to work well on 440. Maybe they just labeled it wrong.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
I attached this antenna to my Yaesu VX3 handheld and the difference was night and day! The antenna is small and rugged enough to use while backpacking etc. and performs beyond my expectations. Highly recommended.

I think it was a bit over price.
