Nice large book! brand new!

Arrived quickly and in perfect condition

I purchased this for a song and I'm pleasantly surprised. The book is bound beautifully, the photographs are well thought through with gorgeous lighting only Lynch can achieve. I've looked through this several times. I love it.

In describing the impetus for this book and the selection of photos, the summary says "...most of these have never been seen before," and apparently with good reason. There were maybe four photos in the whole book that had some aesthetic value or compositional quality. It might have been more had the editor not been of the "let's spread photos across two pages so any meaningful content is obscured in the gutter/spine" school of editing. There's one photo of a partial face that might be Madonna (or not), but no one without facial recognition software will really know because there is no index of models, dates, locations, titles, etc. My first thought was whether Mr. Lynch has published other photography books, which I suspect he has, since these appear to be scraps picked up from the cutting room floor. The book may appeal to students of some artistic niche that I can't identify, or there may be some underlying thesis that I did not discern, but mainstream audiences of fine art photography will likely be disappointed.

The title of this book could more accurately be “David Lynch, nude body bits with a few faces.” Page after page of body parts hidden away under too many shadows. The faces, and there are very few of them, are highlights of the book. The photos quickly becomes monotonous. A big disappointment.

This book is a total piece of garbage. It all appears to be third and fourth rate photos that were rightly rejected from earlier publications. Nothing in this book is worth while of your money or time.Don't buy this book based on the author / photographer's name, don't buy this book based on it's cover or title, don't but this book. I wish I could rate this a minus five in Amazon's rating system.

I'm not sure what some of the others are griping about. I think this is an impressive book and anyone familiar with Lynch's other books of photographs will instantly recognize his unique eye for shadow and substance. The choices he makes for what body parts and how to light them are fascinating. If you're looking for masturbatory material, there are plenty of other books to choose from; this is art.

Some interesting images, but the book is twice as long and twice as expensive as it should be. Also, and this may not be David Lynch's fault, splitting images across pages is a bad idea.
