It's good gear - especially for the money
People made a lot of negative remarks on this little bad boy. I just got it. It took 45 minutes to assemble. NO MISSING PARTS! like many have said. Such negative remarks on a very good little product. It went together easily. Everything fit very nicely. I think lots of people just complain about things and expect way too much for what they pay for. I got this little guy for $99 and it's sturdy enough. Yes, it's small. For larger people, maybe not good. I'm 5'8" 170lbs. It's perfect for me. Yes, the bar rails are too close together. But not by much. It's totally workable. And, another complaint is that putting on a weight on one side makes the bar fall, well duh, yeah, that'll happen even on larger equipment. But I had 25's on and it did not fall with only one weight on. It stayed steady. That was a 4ft curl bar. However, it's easy to set one on the bench and install and hold and then install the other. Such complainers. It almost made me not buy it but I'm glad I did. I see this all the time. How can one person see it as a 5 and the other as a 1? Somebody is off. And I'm telling you, it's the complainers. These people that you couldn't please for nothing. It's a VERY decent piece of gear. I don't usually give reviews, but I had to come and defend it. Here it is with 180lbs on it sturdy as could be. I could put the 25’s on and go to 230 and I would not go past that.

Good value
The bench was well packed and assembly took about an hour. The thing I liked best is the value. I only put about 100 lbs on a 1” bar and it is fine. It is sturdy with that weight. Supposedly it will handle up to 350 pounds - maybe it would be less study with more weight - I don’t know. The things I like least are the width of the uprights. I have a squat pad on my bar so I have to put my hands outside the uprights. It is just a little inconvenient, not a big deal breaker. I also don’t like the fact that the bench does not incline for neck and head support while doing bench presses, like the more expensive benches do. However, the simple solution for that is to put a piece of foam under your neck and head. That works fine for me. One final comment is that it is useless for squats since the uprights are so low. However, for my purposes, this rates 5 stars.

Sturdy, Compact, and Value Priced
I believe this is a fine choice for a weight bench, so long you know what you are getting. If you are a total beast, and your aspirations run toward the next Mr. Olympia competition, or if you routinely bench upwards of 300 pounds, you may as well keep looking. But if you're a regular sized guy (I'm 6'1" and 180), who is looking to do some basic bench exercises with moderate amounts of weight, look no further. With both my body weight as well as a 110 pound barbell on it, this weight bench is rock solid with not a sign of wobble or shakiness. In fact, I would feel comfortable putting probably half again as much weight on it. This is not a child's weight bench, as some reviewers have suggested, though by its very design, it IS a fairly compact piece of equipment. Therein lies its limitations as well as its appeal. The number one selling point of this particular model was, for me, the ability to fold the bench up for storage in the upright position. With me conducting all of my workout sessions in a small back bedroom, which doubles as my "man cave" (computer, TV, stereo, tons of CDs and DVDs, bookcases, etc.), I really needed something with either a small footprint, or one that would fold up easily for storage. This one is perfect for my needs. It either folds or unfolds in mere seconds, so set up or break down time is practically non-existent. When folded, it's small enough to store in the bedroom closet. Awesome! The folded footprint is about 28" x 17-1/2", and it's about 50-3/4" tall with the bench platform in the upright folded position.Assembly was pretty straightforward. My only real complaint is that somehow the entire contents of the hardware packet was spilled out into the box, with nuts, bolts, and washers everywhere, even wedged between the stapled cardboard flaps on the inside of the box. Had there been even a small tear of any kind in the box, I would have likely lost a number of pieces. But with the help of the parts list in the assembly instructions, I was able to identify and verify that everything was there. I really took my time, so assembly was probably about an hour and a quarter, once I got all the hardware straightened out. Had I been in a hurry, I'm sure I could have completed it in maybe half an hour to 45 minutes.Regarding some other customers' observations, I do find the spacing of the rack uprights to be acceptable, if not perfect (mine measures 22-1/16" inside the uprights, and 25-1/4" outside). I typically use a fairly wide grip in order for my upper arms to maintain approximately a 75 degree angle from my torso, so my hands naturally fall just outside the uprights. This bench works fine for me. However, if your natural grip falls somewhere in the 23-25 inch range, you may either have to adapt, or look to make some type of modification to the apparatus to increase the spacing (as another reviewer has done and shown in photos). I personally find there is plenty of room inside the uprights as well, should I wish to use a narrower grip to work my triceps a bit more while benching. As far as loading and unloading weights causing the bar to tip, as I said, this is a fairly compact unit, and the laws of physics being what they are, you have to understand that and take the proper precautions. Just use some common sense. A simple strap or heavy bungee cord will do the trick. I find it to be very stable, but I am also using a 5 foot bar, again for space reasons in a small room. The bench platform itself is just under 10 inches wide, which I find adequate, though some have reported they find that a bit narrow. But it works for me. A bit more padding would have been nice, but then I'm not exactly looking for creature comforts when I'm lifting. There are handles on the back side that are supposedly for dips. I honestly do not know that I will find them useful for that purpose. I tried them, and they support my weight without any problem. But they do feel kind of awkward and rather low. However, they are invaluable when the bench is folded and you wish to move it around. There are certainly much better weight benches out there, most of which carry much heftier price tags. But I feel that this one is a sound choice in its $99 price range, and the fact that it folds or unfolds in seconds, and can easily be moved from room to room. Well - that's just plain cool! Just decide if it checks the boxes you're looking for. This one had the basic features I wanted, and the overall quality is very good. If this helps me to get back into shape to any appreciable degree, then I will consider it money well spent.
