It's fell apart and died!!!
STRIIV APEXPros: you get more of your text messages than the older model and for new customers you can read most of what you need. The weather comes across with temps, rain, sun etc. You can log in on the journal right on the tracker if you get into that stuff. You get usual steps, miles, heart rate which can be on all the time or just when you want it. The alarms that you set are very easy to shut off. You can set tracker to come on when you twist your wrist, tap or both. The Band is much better than the Striiv Bio 2 I had.Cons: I only get about 4 days battery life with most everything turned off. When I left the wrist twist on I charged every day. If I get a few texts, do the journal, set a few alarms, battery life goes way down. So I have everything other than One alarm and weather off. My old Striiv Bio 2 would give me at least 5 days battery life with most of the stuff on other than the continuous heart rate. I LOVE the Striiv Bio 2 except for the band which was really bad. On the site they stated the battery should last 5-7 days. So I did return my first one thinking it was a defective battery and by the advice from Striiv. The second one did the same thing, so keep that in mind. I love the Striiv trackers but this one is a disappointment for me.Update: The clip that attaches the band to the tracker broke after a little over 2 months, what a disappointment. It wasn't even the side that you have to disconnect for charging. After four months the battery stopped charging, had to send it back to Striiv for a replacement. Hopefully I will have it back before Christmas. It has some nice features but Needs a lot of improvements.UPDATE: The button on their Striiv Apex just came off. Contacted Striiv to get replacement bands but they told me after 2 months of glueing the band on that they do not know when they will get any in. Now the button is gone. Well, don't need bands NO more. Time to get a new tracker and it won't be the the Striiv Apex that's for sure.UPDATE: Striiv sent a replacement Apex tracker and band, trouble charging it. After a short time it went dead. Striiv does not warranty the replacement. One hundred twenty-nine dollars down the Drain!!

Great, moderate price option
I have had a few fitness trackers from Striiv. I feel they are a good company, but there were a few missing ingredients with past versions that led me to other trackers. But this one solved those issues and is the best tracker from Striiv I've owned. The battery life depends on what options are selected. For the best better life, you will want to turn off continuous heart rate monitoring (noted in the instructions), off wrist flip to see time (from my experience), and off continuous connection (didn't test this, but I receive all notifications instantly without it on). After a full charge Sunday evening, here I am on Thursday evening with 62% left. Because of the USB charging and no need for an extra cradle, it is easy to charge at work, home, or on vacation.Notifications are most important to me. You will get about 50 characters of a text message in two "pages". This is enough to get the idea of "i'm here" or "let's go" and more, which is great. You cannot send a text back via the tracker but if you want to make sure you receive the message, this tracker does that. I have an android and get all the notifications I want, mostly with text included. Some odd apps may just give the notification without further text, but those are few. The alert is almost instant, which is great for calls.I drop one star because the step counter seems way too high. All step counters have accuracy problems it seems and I feel my subway ride to work adds too many false steps. But in the end, comparison day to day can be most useful with fitness trackers and this is easy to do with the app. I don't use the journals, alarms, or sleep functions but they are cool features for anyone interested. The heart rate monitor can be continuous, but can be switched off and instead measured manually. I prefer this instead of crazy green lights trying to force a dance party in my room at night. The app does a fine job of collecting data and displaying graphs. There is an optional game on the app that almost looks like an ad. I just move it to the bottom of the app and focus on what I care about. My phone stays paired with the bracelet regularly, which is a big plus. What's most important to me are great notifications, long battery life, easy to charge, decent step count, and a reasonable app. The Apex HR does almost all this for around $100, which is another plus for those of us that don't want a +$200 electronic on our wrists on the subway.

Needed troubleshooting after 6 days. Maybe operator error?
Hi. I got this tracker 6 days ago. I like the design and it's comfortable, not too bulky. It records steps relatively accurately and I like the heart rate monitor. But in this day of high tech gadgets, I really got it for the smart features. At first, they worked wonderfully. But yesterday, I didn't get any notifications on the tracker about any texts or calls. I tried to contact Amazon going through my orders, then contact support. But nothing ever happened, the call never processed so I don't even think they know I'm trying to contact them. If I get a response to this review and resolve the issue, I'll edit and change my rating. I'll give them a few days, but if I don't hear back, this needs to be returned.Update :Just a couple of hours after I went through all the trouble shooting steps listed in the app, even though I never heard from support, then I started getting notifications from my phone. So this is quirky. I'm going to keep a close eye and see how it goes.I think today is day 7 or 8 with this tracker. I'm returning it. There are 2 small metal bands on either side and 1 keeps falling off. I don't know if this will affect how waterproof it is, but if it's happening this soon, no telling what will go wrong later on. I'll keep trying. Looking for the next smart tracker now.
