A must have knife for the kitchen!
First impression is, wow, nice packaging! A beautifully-designed box that opens from the magnetic flap edge has foam inserts and covers for the blade corners suggesting that Syokami has regard for detail and quality. This will be the most beautiful knife you'll likely ever use and own. You won't put in in a drawer; you'll return it to the original packaging to respect and keep it in perfect condition! The 7" blade has an unusual shape and design and very sharp. Cutting with it is effortless and accurate. The blade design makes it perfect for rocking and slicing any food with exacting precision and ease. The V-shape of the upper part of the blade opens the food like a cleaver yet the blade cuts through food items as beautifully. The blade tang is heavy and extends through the wenge wood handle, fixed in place with three heavy rivets -- top quality and beautiful. The stainless steel is capped at the base of the handle. It is nicely balanced.I will like use this knife for every meal prep as it is versatile and meets the needs of cutting through any food item like a quality knife should. You won't regret having and using this knife. With the beautiful storage box, it would also make for a unique and quality gift. Couldn't be more satisfied with this Syokami German blade 7" knife.

Sturdy, Sharp and Ergonomic Kitchen Knife
This knife has been a pleasant surprise and one I find myself using lately. I’d give it 4.5 stars, with a slight deduction not for performance but for two minor design choices: the lack of a heavy plastic sheath for storage and the addition of a fake Damascus steel pattern. This knife performs well on its own merits, so the imitation Damascus look feels unnecessary and somewhat cheapens its appearance. (For comparison, last pic is a photo of this knife next to a higher-end one made with genuine Damascus steel.)In terms of performance, though, this knife delivers. It arrived extremely sharp and has no trouble slicing, chopping, and dicing with precision. It also cuts through raw meats like chicken breast and beef with ease. The full tang design adds strength and balance, giving it a nice heft, while the ergonomic handle shape fits naturally in hand for comfortable use. I have not used the herb peeling holes yet.Overall, it's a reliable, well-balanced knife that handles a wide range of kitchen tasks exceptionally well.

Great knife, silly branding
This is a nice, attractive knife with good weight and balance. I enjoy cooking with it, and it feels (mostly) good in the hand. It just suffers from some identity issues. The stamped Damascus-like pattern is silly, and seems like a pure marking decision. The same goes for pushing it as some kind of 3-in-1 kitchen multitool. It is a knife. It can strip some herbs and that’s nice, but it’s just a knife. The knife comes beautifully packaged, and would serve well as a gift. The box is great, as is the presentation when it’s opened. It comes out of the box sharp and ready to use.Personally, I take issue with the “gear teeth” near the handle. This could be entirely due to the way that I handle knives, but I find that the teeth grind in to the side of my index finger if it’s in use for an extended time. I have worked as a line cook, and I have done more than my fair share of chopping and slicing meats with similar-sized knives. My right hand has never slipped, and it has also never been quite this painful.Overall, though, it’s a cool knife.

Sharp and sharp looking....
This knife has a really nice feel and balance to it. It comes very sharp and cut through anything I used it on. Works great for fine chopping / cutting and bulk cutting as well. Plus the look of it is very eye catching. I would consider it a high end chefs knife. It also comes well packaged and could very easily by gifted. Well worth it and I can see me getting many years of use out of this knife. Time to retire some of my old kitchen knives.

Incredible knife
I have a smaller knife that I love from this same company and wanted to get this SYOKAMI 3-in-1 Chef Knife with Herb Stripper for my dear friend. She is a chef and uses all types of knives. This 7” knife has a beautiful blade and also works as an herb stripper. Since she has lots of herbs in her gardens, she will use this knife a lot.I am giving this to her for Christmas, and I know she will love it. The wooden handles this company uses are very high quality, as is the metal in the blade. Plus, they gift wrap their knives beautifully. Very classy.I will update this review after she receives this gift.Highly recommend for any chefs in your life.
